Maxsports in Toronto, Canada posted this video of 3 thieves stealing 6 badminton and 2 tennis rackets from their store. They did it by the grandma stuffing them in her pants. Who needs racket bags if we have big baggie pants...

I'm not sure whether I'm more impressed by their audacity/skill at trying something like this, or by their stupidity in not recognising those hi-def surveillance cameras...

Lol... they're as much Canadian as I am a Malaysian ;) ... (I'm Malaysian born Chinese btw)

In other words, there is no typical Canadian... we're quite multi cultural here with many sources of immigration.

Even if they're caught and charged, theft under $5000 in Canada is peanuts and the courts will just give them a slap on the wrist and send them on their merry way to repeat the cycle again. That's Canadian justice for you...

Been to Maxsports a bunch of times, a shame people who don't appreciate local business' do these kind of things. Hope these thieves get caught and fined, for what that's worth.

To deter future thieves, probably best for the store to relocate the high value items such as rackets to the front right next to the front desk / cashier.

Most sport stores (even the small ones) here have anti thief sensors by the entrance. I suppose the special tags on the rackets or other high value items would trigger the sensors.

The surveillance cams are probably too well hidden...

Should post a sign up by the entrance and racket and other display areas : "Smile, you're on camera... :)"
