24 min into the match, and WYH gave up and surrendered to TTY.

WYH retired in mid-way through the 2nd game.. that makes AY's win nullified... :) Poor AY..

If mentally and physically defeated, don't attempt to take on the young ones who have nothing to lose.

No wonder, WYH's movement was sluggish and looked hampered. Her facial expression was telling.

Pfff, this is getting ridiculous with all these retirements...
Ofc I'm sorry for the injured players, but there are way too many in these ss finals...
    Disappointing

    I really dislike this system.
Do it like it's successfully done in the tennis masters finals!!!!

Yes, Team CHN has been stressing their top 3 WS too much, time to inject some new blood to share the workload. I really hope to see not only Liu Xin and Sun Yu but also He Bingjiao (who only played 4 senior tournaments the whole year) given more chances.

Even Son Wan Ho surprised me by his retirement. Instead of the year-end tournament culminating in a climax, we see several anti-climaxes in some of the players' performances, unfortunately.

Indeed it was confirmed by GC that AY's victory over WYH yesterday did not count.

These uncalled-for retirements are causing a lot of distress and some sort of unfairness to both the victors and the vanquished.

Yes, you are right. GC also confirmed it after WYH retired.

WYH looked a little sluggish yesterday and today she looked confused and off.
As for Tai, I think Saina and Tai have been the 2 best players in the past couple of months.

The Danes, Fischer and Pedersen, are going their separate ways, says GC?

because WYH retired. Now it will be as if WYH didn't play a single match here.
