I'm behind. Justin L is most likely watching on TV while I'm watching on Youtube, which explains the lag.

Vincent fought hard and fierce to close the gap to just 1 pt but Xue Song is not to be denied, he asserts himself to grab the crucial points for ultimate victory. Heartening to see Xue Song maturing as a player but he still needs to gain more experience to realize his full potential. Hope CBA gives him more opportunities to play at the international circuit.

Well done XS, but it could have been easier. Something like 21-17 in the rubber.

When Song was 19-14 up and loses the next 4 pts to just 19-18 , I thought he might wilt under the relentless onslaught from WWK but no, he put his foot down and went on the attack bravely to seal final victory. Well done, young man, many more to come I believe.

Quite true, perhaps sensing victory, he unconsciously eases off a little and that allowed Vincent to come back with 4 pts on the trot. Luckily, he pulled himself together at just the right moment to grab the trophy.

Hope SIN doesn't go home empty-handed.

Good to see that when Xue Song realized his deep backhand corner is being exploited by his opponent, he became more alert and tweaked his tactics a little to make sure he's not caught too often. That's a thinking player.

Both Danny and Chayut are powerful smashers.

In tennis there's such a thing called 25/20-second rule between points for Grand Slams and World Tours, and tennis isn't as strenuous or physically demanding as badminton. So, umpires, is there a need to rush the players, most of whom for most of the time hardly take more than 10 seconds or so? BWF , please take note.

Danny, are you rested enough after the XD? And please, for goodness' sake, watch your serve.

Playmakers are very important to have, in doubles, smashes don't win points outright that often and can be tiring when your opponents keep returning them.

Problem is that they are both playmaker types and need a smasher behind them. hope they can be more all round, their smashes aren;t that good.

I get your point, it's much better to be very good in all departments of the game, all round.
