That's it. Done and dusted. Bae to the semis beating yihan in 3 tough games.

This tournament is really a surprise to many.

CTC vs LD in the Semis would be a very very interesting match.

LD in the final vs MZ would not be that interesting I think - even if I like to see MZ in the final for sure. Momota vs LD would be interesting because Momota is very young and a nice fast player but LD has soo much experience...we will see what will happen tomorrow :)

Ya! And Wang Yihan seems to be very famous indeed! I think there was even more than Lin Dan! Though arguably the crowd may have increased, it is the optimum time around 9 pm.

But I will blame the broadcasters, or the video mixers. They should have increased the volume of commentary a little bit.

CHN has one representative left in WS and it is not WYH but Liu Xin and I think it's hard to beat Saina. Any past H2H between these 2?

Her h2h against yihan is now 4-7. Still yihan is in the lead.

1-0 to saina. But that happened 2 years back. But you very well know saina has put up weight and struggling to regain her past glory. She is sluggish in her movement . Still finding for a correct treatment to it. Hope she play carefully. Liu xin is not an ordinary player. She eliminated Ratchanok easily today in straight games.

I have a feeling, Saina is going to win this. She only faces problems generally against LXR, WYH and occasionally against WSX. Others very occasionally.

Saina! Go do it! A golden opportunity!

As much as I like MZ to win this tournament, I think it is hard for him to beat LD should they meet in the final.
I remember Marc lost tamely the last time they played.

Sorry for grouping both of you together.
But I too hope Saina will win it.
Perhaps RI was a little off form today.

I also admire your comments and I agree with you. I think Saina ought to handle some of her interviews without appearing a snob. I also fond of your game analysis that you post sometimes :).
But its upsetting to know that people call you a "narrow-minded nitwit". Its judgement on their part to call me that, I dont think any of my 66o or so comments over three yearts can lead to that deduction.

Of course! No doubt about it. That's why I said that a final between LD and MZ wouldn't be much interesting :D
Maybe the "new playing style" of LD suits a bit more for Marc but...LD...is just LD :D

WYH struggled against Bae YJ who is owned by WSX. And WSX underperformed to be ousted by Akane Y. That's why I said when LXR withdrew from the tournament due to injury, she is doing everyone here a big favour because, other than her inexplicable massive meltdown once a year on the big occasions, she is practically unbeatable, esp versus the ROW.

Meanwhile the 2nd seed Ma/Xu lost to the unseeded KOR pair Eom/Yoo.
Eom was very good at the net and was under a lot of pressure but she handled it very well.

today all the matches in WS were between China and ROW. Its interesting that china won 1 and ROW won 3 matches. It's even more interesting that the only Chinese to win was Liu Xin, and her higher ranked compatriots lost.

I think the final will be between Saina and Bae.
