Unfortunately, indian players have a tendency to struggle against left handed players(south paw). Tomorrow, both srikanth and kashyap are going to meet lefties. That is my concern.
Not for long though... You counting LD as unseeded.. His seed in list is given permanently by his extravagant talent
Tomorrow's schedule are out : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...2490F8-9D1C-4B42-B715-915DAB1DC208&d=20141114 So many interesting matches. How nice if we could pick our favorite 5 matches.
Thats correct.. We all witnessed a tame PV against CM and even against BYJ(In AG).. Put I believe that the time has come when fortune itself will crack this jinx.... CL's loss to MZ and WZM's def from the hands of KM is surely a sign of good fortune for Ind MS. No doubt their opponents are strong but if they give it all the fortune will again take their side turning the tides.. This is only my perception it may differs
Haha..that's right Mr. Loh its really delighting that we are having children's day tommorow I'll be having half school and tuitions will be off...i can certainly catch the fireworks (as you say it)..
You mean you didn't know LXR withdrew from this tourney citing leg injury and flew back to Beijing for medical checkup and treatment as I've posted earlier? As reported, she also withdrew from next week's HK Open SS.
Is that so? I thought you mentioned she will be there at the HK Open. Hope she has a good rest and recovery and give a good account of herself in her next tourney.
MS in this tournament is very competitive. CTC is the only top 10 player in the quarter final. I also notice it is also competition between left handed vs right handed. There are 4 left handed in the quarter final.
Just imagine if LD decided not to participate last week, China has no MS player in the quarter final. How far can LD go in this tournament will depend on his knee injury. If his knee doesn't bother him, I think he will get the title and come back to top 10 ranking. K momota will likely be the opponent in the final.
Btw, you've nothing to say about Tai TY's retirement to Sun Yu yesterday? Mind you, I've nothing against her, I respect her decision, or any athlete's for that matter. I believe every athlete's first duty is to him/her-self whose health and career are at stake. She seems prone to injury and has too many match retirements for someone so young, I wish her well.
Agree, he won't push himself hard for fear of aggravating his knee injury. But as the only CHN MS rep left, he'd feel more obligated to carry on in front of his home crowd where BAYI team of PLA is located, like fulfilling a soldier's duty;however with three more rounds to go, hard to say if he'll progress to the final and win it. Yesterday, the way he played JOJ didn't look convincing to me, sluggish, error-prone, his usual killer smash not lethal, and when forced to change direction, his turning and pivoting a bit tentative - no doubt, all this has to do with his knee problem. Wish him all the very best.
Just going back to this, it's a good idea Hehe. I just wonder how many internationally qualified umpires there are who can take time off from work and umpire on a volunteer basis. The umpires are also not allowed to be over 55. There was one time an umpire actually had a heart attack (so I am told) and then the 55 years old rule came in force after that. The pool of umpires who are also available must be fairly limited.
BWF Rules regarding Officials in a SuperSeries tournament are as follows: 6.12.1 An umpire, a service judge, and a minimum of four line judges must be provided for each match at Super series tournaments. There shall be at least six umpires from member associations other than the host Member Association comprising of at least four BWF and two continental certificated umpires with well spread nationality. All umpires and service judges shall meet the eligibility criteria set for the panel of Technical Officials they belong to. Regarding the age of 55, they cannot be a BWF official once past that age, but can still be a confederation or lower level official. 45 is the oldest age to be able to go up for evaluation for BWF.
