Oh please, you and your rote-learning/training again. Go tell that to the university students. Badminton is both a science and an art, those who can only train mechanically without using their brains and think for themselves on court, and lack court sense and a dose of creativity, won't go far. To be one of the top players, hard work alone is not enough though essential, you got to have the right attitude and mentality and, most importantly, the innate talent. But why am I telling you all this when what you're only interested in is to bash and discredit CHN players? No matter how good they are, you would always have something to fault them. The problem actually lies with yourself, not them - you are one of those who have eyes but do not see, have ears but do not hear; in other words, none so blind as those who won't see, none so deaf as those who won't hear.

To me, WSX among the CHN WS is the most independent-minded, the least taught in the strict sense of the word, her style of play is unique but for her lack of a decent smash, she often lands herself in trouble. We all know she was once WR1 for a period of time , then hit the doldrums after her LOG deselection which lasted about a year before she started to make an amazing comeback, all by sheer relentless effort, dogged persistence and new-found confidence to rise again to what she is today. Her accomplishments are there for all to see, her H2H with opponents like Intanon R and Bae YJ are unmistakable, her recent All England triumph beating WYH and LXR was her crowning achievement, that phenomenal come-from-behind win over Saina when 10-15 down at the French Open...and I can go on and on. But, hey, that's not what you want to hear. Just because she lost decisively to Akane Y for the first time today - which has happened to Intanon R and other top players before - you seize this hard-to-come-by opportunity which you've been waiting for a very long to take a dig at me. Poor you, how long have you been carrying this load in your self-deluded mind?

If I'm wearing sunglasses in the dark, pray what are you wearing in broad daylight? A custom-made specially-designed rose-tinted glasses laced with anti-CHN venom well-suited for sore losers, sour grapes, jealous bugs and hating fleas ? Enough, if you don't have anything new and constructive to say to me but continue to rehash old conspirative theories, invectives and vitriol like a broken record, save it. I'll much appreciate you spare me your drivel, just pretend we don't know each other while co-existing in this forum.

You're right. Hope CHN allow their most promising juniors to rise faster and earlier.

Even I am wondering about that. For saina's match against qinjinjing and for wang shixian's match against akane yamaguchi, and the list goes on.

Is this an international tournament or local tournament?.

For superseries premier tournaments, is it good enough to sit for your country's players(umpire). Absolutely wrong.

I wish Shixian would smash more often.

    --------------

Another impressive win from Chou Tien Chen against Sugiarto today. Looks like he will play Hu Yun in the QF. Chou's last loss was against Lin Dan, which took LD 3 games.

The old guard Hu Yun is no less impressive, eliminating Viktor Axelsen in emphatic manner.

Maybe there was a visa restriction imposed by the host country.:D
I can't think of any other reason.

Just watched RI vs HL here
HL was very poor. Hitting many shots out.

I just now watched akane yamaguchi's match. Shixian was playing her usual game which has more cross court drop shots making opponents twist and turn. But the problem is akane played even more brilliant game to counter attack it and sent back every shuttle thrown at her. Brilliant display from this wonder kid. She is such a stocky build with huge calf muscle. Imoh. She has the strength to bend 'n' number of times to return the shuttle back to the opponent. Only possible way to tackle her could be the combination of power and variations. Shixian had zero smashes today. She need to learn to smash better.

Maybe it was difficult to get international officials during this holiday period or some may opt to stay home to avoid some of the deadly diseases, like Ebola, spreading in many airports?

The 18-yr-old Qin Jinjing acquitted herself well in her match with Saina but her inexperience told in the end losing a well-fought two-setter by the identical score of 21-18.

I think Suo Di might be able to frighten Saina a bit more tomorrow.

Also look forward to Sun Yu dealing with Intanon next. The last time they met, SY was clueless and played below par, this time should be different. Expect a high quality match as IR is on top of her game atm.

Interesting to see the court attendants are using towels instead of the 'sweepers' to mop up the sweat on court.

Yup, I have posted that too. The court attendants are the line judges. Received double allowance.
They use the towels in between the points but uses the mop during breaks.
