Noticeable that women's doubles can't fill up 32 places.

No English ladies apart from Gabrielle Adcock.

Chris Adcock isn't playing men's doubles.

It was decided that after the Commonwealth Games, both Chris and Gabrielle will only play Mixed Doubles.

I'm very Happy and surprised to see Suo Di entered into the qualifying draw. I had wondered what happened to her for the past year!

Omg LCW will not play the last two SS that means he will suffer from heavy points casualty...
Good chance for others though the competition will be open..

LCW did not play CHN SSP last yr so the point loss will not be so bad.

I won't jump the gun, let's wait for Lin Dan to fully recover from his minor knee injury first. Meanwhile he's forced to rest for several days which may be somewhat detrimental to his condition in the lead-up to the CHN Open just two weeks away.

Draw is released and is already populated in tournament software.

Saina again in the top draw with li xuerui. First round being sayaka takahashi.. hmmm..

Sindhu is expected to meet yihan in the second round. Very very difficult.

One interesting thing i have noticed in this draw is, except lindan, all the local players were grouped in the top half including the players from the qualifiers. Strange.

Saina was WR7 for so long but she never faced SJH in QF..she got up to WR6 now again she'll face LXR (of course of she battle pass ST and AY) and WR7 as of then RI will take on SJH...
Huh this is what bad luck is all about..
PV has even difficult draw as she will face the inform WYH in R2...
PV had a last chance to improve in Dubai rankings but I don't think this will happen...unless PV gets in her best..
No ashwini I wanted to see her at least in WD if not in XD its strange but yes even they had a chance in destination Dubai..

As far as MS is concerned in form PK is grouped in top quarter along with AG bronze medalist Nam Wei, young talent THW and of course WC CL...very difficult for him..
KS is grouped with most probably his compatriot RMV guru sai dutt, KT and FO runner up WZM..
HS prannoy will face the Danes...

This is a test for Chou Tien Chen.

Can his continue his recent victory roll after winning the French SS and Bitburger GPG?

He beat some of China's best shuttlers - Wang Zhengming and Tian Houwei proving that he can take on and down the world's best players. With so many more greats playing, I'm wondering if he can take the heat.

Korean separated my favourite WD's pair Jung Kyung Eun and Kim Ha Na... why are they split!? ):

Experimentation I suppose, after so many recent losses.. I guess is understandable.

On paper, you were right. In reality, in almost all tournaments, the #1 in Qualification (AY this time) will be promoted to the main draw.

On paper, LD and JOJ should meet in the second round. There is no escaping this time.

Although still China domination, Korea WD used to be the 2nd best in the world.

Now where is Korea ? medal counting wise, Korea's listed after China, Japan, Denmark, and even Indonesia.

if Korea WDs don't change quickly, they will not catch up with others.
