Seems that I'm sort of late to the discussion here.

First of all, it was unfortunate to see Endo/Hayakawa go down hard against Boe/Mogensen. They played quite well in the first set, but sadly their play somehow failed them in the subsequent games. Good game by the Danes though.

Also, what exactly happened to CTC's coach? Did he just leave during the tournament or something? What's the story exactly? Or does nobody know?
What's funny, however, is what Google gave me when I was trying to dig up info on that.
    Check this out :p

    Even Google knows what's up.

Totally agree! You see many players forget how to think for themselves, and when for a particular tournament they get a different (or "not so clued-in") coach, they fall to pieces. Good for CTC! This will give him huge confidence going forward.

Unless in the next match he gets a "not so clued-in" coach that advises contrary to what he might think... that'll really mess him up!

^ Looking at his scores in all his matches at French open, he certainly likes to cut it as close as he can!

Too many errors given by WYH ;)

I was in the public, it was quite obvious that WYH gave the match to WSX.
Whenever WYH was one or two points ahead, she gave it back by some silly and easy mistakes.

And LXR gave WSX the title the day after :)
It was all "coach-fixed" from the semis IMO.

It has been like this all this while.
I witnessed the same thing in the stadium between LD and CJ in 2007.
And the paying audience was shortchanged.

I beg to differ. WYH has every incentive to beat WSX and LXR so as to improve her ranking to WR#2 asap. She is not doing herself a favour by losing to WSX and LXR losing to WSX in the final didn't benefit WYH either. LXR came to the French Open half-spent and practically used up most of her remaining energy to deal with Intanon R in the semifinal and has little left to tackle WSX's grinding game.

When you're tired you've a higher risk of injury if you pushed yourself too hard; it's not that rare to see a player retire in the middle of a match either owing to fatigue or fear of injury or aggravating any slight discomfort.

I won't underestimate the rivalry among the three of them which is heating up going into the Olympic cycle. WYH will go all out to assure herself one of the two Olympic spots and hopefully avenge her previous defeat to LXR at LOG'12. WSX who was denied the LOG spot will be just as determined not to miss the boat again.

The CHN WS trio has been consistently in the top 3 with the present No.3 ranked WYH at 78,761 points, well above the No.4 ranked Sung JH at 66824. What is there for the three to 'manipulate ? Have you seen the previous few encounters between the three which are generally regarded as badminton of the highest order?

The French Open semifinal clash WSX - WYH was also well fought. The way WSX accounted for the QF disposal of Saina indicated to me that she is now a more steady, mature player with steely nerves, and her kind of rallying game coupled with superb defence can wear down almost any offensive players who are not at their best.

Overgeneralization and taking the exception for the rule is as good as distorting the truth or ignoring the circumstances that lead to the isolated or rare incident. One swallow does not make a summer.

And why do you think the entire KOR team pulled out of the French Open, not to mention a few others who also did so ?
