Ratchanok's form is going in the negative direction. She is not at all like herself nowadays.

Liu Xin is losing her grip on the game in the 2nd set.

Bad for Liu Xin to lose a hefty lead in G2 and the set eventually. That's why she's not counted among the CHN elite WS, not yet.

Would love to see Liu XL/Qiu ZH play the JPN pair, it'll help explain why LYB is still giving them chances and opportunities to prove themselves.

Lin Dan pulls out - Jan Ø. Jorgensen annoyed

    [Translated by Google Translate]

It was set for a Badminton Battle of the big Thursday night as the crowd favorite Jan Ø. Jorgensen should have faced the five-time world champion Lin Dan from China. But Chinaman was unfortunately forced to withdraw from both Yonex Denmark Open and French Open, when he had problems with the knee. -

"I'm really sorry that I had to pull . I had problems with my knee after the game yesterday, and it got worse when training today. I am really sorry not to be able to play, but now I fly home, so I can hopefully get ready for China Open and maybe Super Series Finals in Dubai in December. Of course I am also really annoyed on behalf of the Danish fans" said Lin Dan. The large Chinese crowd puller was not the only one who was disappointed that the game could not be played. The audiences and Jan Ø. Jorgensen had been looking forward to seeing world class badminton on Danish ground. -

"I'm disappointed, I really wanted to play this game. It is these matches, you live and breathe, so I would really like to have been in action here at home. I ran and warmed up when I heard about it, and was obviously surprised. But I'm really happy to be on to tomorrow and am looking to get into combat", says the Danish men's singles. Tomorrow he meets Kashyap Parupalli from India in the quarter-finals, while Lin Dan must take the long trip home to China.

LD won the 2009 world champs with an injured leg...I guess that age and motivation are a big factor here.

The Google translation of Chinaman is inappropriate, a derogatory term that is considered offensive in most dictionaries.

I guess LD won't play because he is afraid losing again against jan so other MS players are motivated to beat him while his confident is a bit drop, I think this is LYB's style in the badminton tactic. this is so unnatural because so often happen in much of tournaments since 2004 (as I know)

I wonder why? As for saying "Frenchman", it is without any wrong connotation.

But anyway, for the recent years, we can never count on LD to animate the regular tournaments, it is frustrating.

I think LD is just tired after the Asian games. He is not young anymore. Even LCW can't do it and have to quit this time. It is really tough to live up to other people expectation but I think LD has to protect himself from injury. As a player is getting older, it will take longer time to recover. The best thing to do is to prevent it. I note there is plenty of talk about JOJ as Lin Dan new rival in this tread. In my opinion it is still to too early to say. JOJ is one of the top 4 players currently. I think his games with Chen Long will be interesting too in this tournament. However, I must say Chen Long is also tired at the moment after the Asian games. I suspect Asian games men single Gold medal is probably only what LD care for this year. However, there is a plan for LD to come back to at least top 10 this year. So, I think he will be serious to win one or two more titles later this year. I wish LD to have a rest and bring out the best LD game next time.

The Chinese MD have performed beyond expectations until now. Perhaps they feel the heat!

They have been forming n number of combinations to check it out and definitely reaching quarters for a chinese standard is not at all unexpected.

If "really" injured and can't play, please announced and withdrew in the first instance.
