The two young future stars trying to out-attack each other. I feel Xue Song will benefit from more international exposure to gain much-needed experience, that's where K Srikanth has much more of, comparatively speaking.

What's wrong with WZM, his reaction speed is so slow.

Wang ZM also suffers from inconsistency.

Hayom Rumbaka leads 11-5 at game 3 interval, can Wang ZM turn the table?

WZM tens to settle into the opponent's rhythm instead of taking charge of the rally, many of his returns are too straightforward and predictable, esp when he's on the defensive.

Nice deception at the net by Rumbaka.

It's really close match, 6th seed Wang ZM is sent packing by Hayom Rumbaka, 21-17 / 18-21 / 19-21.

How long can WZM carry on like this, at age 25 he's already mid-way thru his career ? And for a CHN player, I'd say time is running out for him, he can forget about going to Rio.

Well I was not at all surprised by WZM's upsets..
As well as about THW's victory they were much expected
But TTY being upseted by BZ was really a great shock for me

Still dear you can't see TTY packing in very first Round of a SSP and that to by loosing to a lower ranked opponent

Too bad, towards the end Xue Song couldn't hold on to his two-pt lead. K Srikanth has a slight edge in reading XS's game better and controlling the net as well.

By CHN's standards, their new blood - Tian HW , Xue Song et al - is not up to it. If not for Lin Dan's comeback, CHN MS has only Chen Long to count on.

Nevertheless, I hope Tian HW proves me wrong here as he's the only one left in the upper half of the draw.

CBA really should send Xue Song to more tournaments, he's clearly lacking in international experience and the competitive edge.

In the decider, XS was leading by 2 or 3 pts most of the time and lost the lead briefly once or twice, then when he was 18-16 up, he seemed to be playing more cautiously with less intensity than maintaining the attacking game which is his forte. Overall, a close well-fought encounter, with the more experienced K Srikanth coming on top in the end by taking 5 pts in a row.

Srikanth should have finished it in two straight games. Lack of experience and consistency made him to lose the second game even though he was having nearly 4 points lead in second. I should not forget about indian open gpg where he was about to take the match when he was 19-12 up in the second after taking the first, due to pressure he made error after errors and gifted the game and eventually lost the match to more calm and relaxed xue song. Really well done by srikanth here. Hereafter, He should be consistent enough in future matches so that he can move forward in his career.
