So it looks like Sunriseclick is gonna launch the E-Tune on their site and I'm all excited (and apprehensive) on the price there.

It claims to have 7-ways of configuration, but shouldn't it really be 16?

Hmm like what RSL did with their Diamond X7 racket, weight can be added on side and at the top of the racket.

Well, this is interesting. Why can't I have the purple (repulsion) grommets together with the racket.... only orange (hold) available

Also wondering.... what would happen if I were to combine both type of grommets together... say top purple and bottom orange?

You can plot this according to the following matrix to see where you f

    -10 All Orange
    -6 Upper O
    -4 Lower O
    0 Neutral
    4 Lower P
    6 Upper P
    10 All P

So using Upper Purples (6) and Lower Orange (-4) would land you around (+2) or between Neutral and Lower Purples. Same goes for the other way around - it'll be between Neutral and Lower Orange.

The official launch date is September 25th, but I see a couple of sites that offers the pre-order of this racket already.

Looks interesting but how would this be different to adding tape to a racket? And how can a grommet strip be designed to be a control or power type??

I suppose it depends how hard they are - a "springier" one would transmit more power, I reckon.

Yonex have done this before with a tennis racket - S-Fit, I think it was called... you could string it one way up for power and the other way up for comfort.

yeah, if you want to harmonically imbalance your racket on purpose... dumb thing to do...

lolz, go easy on him hahhaha i tried my best to resist to say anything, hahahha

anyway, would love to hear some impression on this racquet. I cant get my hands on it.

love my voltric 70 so much except for the paint job. it looks like something i would do in photoshop 10 years ago (border on bold text & all black design). If its just the same as the old 70 (without the add on stuff of course), im all in.

There's already a video review on YouTube, but it's in German (from an online shop).
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE9juuPr8Ps

    Basically they say that:
    - without tuning, the racket is very similar to the normal VT70 (nice handling/power)
    - orange tuning -> racket plays differently (like a Z-Speed)

Don't know how reliable this review is, since I don't own this racket myself. But I guess they won't really say something negative about a racket, because they want to sell them.

Quite frankly the main issue that really worries me is the availability of the PURPLE AC-ET1EX grommets which promise increased repulsion.

So far I have not seen any retailers putting a second listing or PWP (purchase with purchase) for the tungsten infused grommets. Which really screws the hype over.

Deliberated with myself earlier last month and got myself a old school VT70 at 60% of the VT70ETN prices... Maybe I'll get it when I am sure I can find the purple grommet to play around. After all, repulsion is my game... I'm not exactly a hold/control player..

thanks man, i've seen the video a couple of days ago but i dont understand German. If what they say is true then its good for me (same as the old VT70). Though you are right about they wont say anything negative about it though, since they are a retailer and want to sell it :)

Wait, they said that with the orange tuning, it becomes something like Z-Speed? Bummer.... I dislike the Z-Speed.... :(

They also say that the racket feels like a VTZF with the purple parts. Maybe YY has a hidden technology which makes the shaft stiffer, when you add this plastic parts. ;) IMO not a useful review, because every racket shines in their reviews and they say never anything negative. Retailer can't make a trustful review.

I guess they just refer to the head-heavyness not the feeling. I dislike the feeling of the Z-Speed, as well.

If they could make a racket that can smash and defend like the Z-Speed, but with a better feeling, I would be sooo happy...
