Well Sari has been weak on the round the head return and she fumbled again 27-26 for IND. But soon SIN recovered 27-all.
Yes, it's been a long time coming to see such a gratifying victory. Nevertheless, though still a long way to go as compared with our table tennis counterparts, it's a good sign. I'm particularly pleased with Liang Xiaoyu, she has a lot going for her.
SIN was fortunate in that Danny finished his 1st XD match in two sets, not stretched to three, which saved him some precious energy for the 3rd MD match. Then finally in the WD decider which went the full distance, luck was with SIN in a ding-dong battle in the ultimate last lap. Undoubtedly, the Bronze playoff could have gone either way, too close to call; too bad, as people are wont to say, there has to be a winner. Personally, I'd much prefer not to have a bronze playoff and declare both losing semifinalists as joint bronze medallist. IND deserves our congratulations too.
Must say I think the plain black Yonex bags the players have are revolting. England had to win that. Think both remaining Doubles games and MS could be close but don't like our chances in WS
