She looked ok. I guess the main reason is only disappointment to suffer first round exit. She shook hands with Gilmour at the end after her coach remind her to do that.
Yeah, and maybe he was wrong too. We can't really figure out who was wrong and who was right with the information available.
INA pairs might/might not double hit, but ZN/ZYL have 3 sets, to win it... so 1-2 points doesnt make much difference if they seize the earlier chance
Bro, every point counts. Some matches finished with 21-19,19-21, 23-21 (30-29 if you go to the extreme). Unless you take total points won, you will still lose if the score is 21-0; 19-21 and 19-21.
He lost his last return from Kevin's serve that is crucial. If he is concentrate and not that eager to attack the serve. I think people think he upset because of his double hits. I think he upset to himself because of the last return shot. Could have been easy as he smashed few time of the similar flick serves.
okee... anyways, z/z got the result they got because they didn't play that well at all, plus greysia and kevin played really well what bugged me though was how z/z thought that the linesmen and umpire and service judge were against them, when they were not... eg. at 12-12 game 3 iirc, zhang argued that his cross court block right in front of the umpire was in when it was obviously out ... they made a big fuss about it then he got worked up over the possible double hit, asking the umpire and asking for the referee and spectator to review the video cam ... which is obviously not in the rule book... then while worked up at match point to ina, he mishits a flick serve all the while he and zhao were making tons of errors and poor shot selection throughout all 3 games... maybe they were tired from last weeks win at japan open... but whatever... doesn't excuse his behaviour at the end of the match
i know, but what makes the point to be so close? if ZN/ZYL played well, they might have greater margin to close the match... i just want to attribute to ZN/ZYL poor performance and also INA great play that they need to fight for the 1-2 points....
Yes, Z & Z are the clear favourites and are supposed to win confortably, by a margin of a few points. On the other hand, to INA pair, every point is very crucial.
Honestly, I think both pairs played awful games. Tons of unforced errors. Why was the score so close was because unorthodox style of Mixed by Kevin. He dares to attack and stay in the front. Z/Z were prepared. Really very low quality of games to watch.
Credit give to Kevin by applying unorthodox style. He uses a lot of deep push to the back instead of pacing it to mid court as normal mixed tactic. These push cause Zang Nan to return flat and Kevin just stuck in front of the net to kill. His fast hand cause a lot of damage and errors at the same time. Kevin/Gressia gamble with high risk return shots, only way they can stay close. At the end Z/Z were frustrated and K/G enjoying it. This Cheeky bugger 'Kevin' has very fast hand, coming player to watch out. He can only improved as his power increases. The scary thing is that he is only boy now.
Kevin will send warning to every doubles pairs. Pair him with Ashan in future and we will see very interesting, exciting, full of characters and personality. Can't wait.
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo has been regarded as the player with the trickiest shot since his junior days at PB Djarum. In Bahasa Indonesia, they call his tricky shot as "bolanya paling jahat!". The difficult part has always been finding the right partner for him, in XD (and possibly XD). Kevin/Masita were unlucky to lose in the WJC Final last year in deuce!
