That's really weird. I feel it's head light, but my another friend says its head heavy. Can't be right?
Before stringing? After stringing? Tension tied at? Grip wise (thick or thin?) Personally I have held nr900 without stringing. It feels a little even balanced than really head light but when you swing, you can feel the head has not much of weight. But I haven't tried one with stringing yet. It may feels different totally.
NR900 seems like an improvement of NS9900 racket in all aspects. Any weakness, if any, does NR900 have ?
I'm a double and a mixed double player and I love the extra stiff shaft and even balanced or head light rackets. I have been playing with NS9900 for the last 3 years and love the racket. But when the news from Yonex that NR is replacing the NS series, I waited for one that supposedly is replacing the NS9900 and the wait is over. I got one yesterday afternoon and played for 2 hour session today, all I can say is that I was very impressed by how it feels. It is a 3u and strung with NG99 string @ 27/25. The Initial impression is it has a much bigger sweet spot, the baseline clear for both forehand and backhand were effortless, drop shots and defense are similar but the power for smashes are definitely an upgrade. I don't think I will be playing with my NS9900 anymore.
It is even balanced (towards headlight) but in general the whole (Nanoray) series is grouped together as "headlight". The headlight marking on the shaft never seems to be based on the individual model but rather the series ... In short: it should have a (much) lighter head than VT80 which I'm sure those who already have it will confirm.
How is the feel compared to the NR750? Does weight and balance feel similar enough where you wouldn't feel like you're using a completely different racket?
Weight with overgrip (Yonex 102 EX) and lead tape NR900 (3U4G) 99 g, balance 288 NR750 (4U4G) 95 g, balance 286 NR900 is stiff, NR750 is medium stiff. For me, I think I like the medium stiff when you got tired. On the other hand, I might change to hard feel string with lower tension e.g. NBg99 at 22 LB to see which one plays better. (My better definition is easily clear to baseline from passive position even when you very tired) I have no problem smash with both rackets, NR900 does better in back hand than NR750.
You are making it very hard to resist getting a couple of these. Currently I'm using a 3UG5 NR750 but wouldn't mind getting a stiffer racket with similar specs.
Nothing is wrong with it. I really like it, but was hoping a stiffer racket would help improve smashes and accuracy.
sorry if this annoy anyone. any of you in msia seen a nr900 2ug5 in local shop? seen a pic of it not counted
