The Japanese really abandoned the comp, which is perhaps a little predictable. Tago is still in the draw but I guess his withdrawal would not be surprising.

hope Tago stays on, he's probably one of the few remaining on the list who can give LD a good game, maybe...

On his facebook page, he said that he underwent surgery [back in February] and needs a couple months to recuperate entirely.

Du Pengyu pulled out. :( No one else particularly noteworthy. I'm not very privy about female players, but two of them withdrew from WS and two teams withdrew from WD. Here is a courtesy link to the BWF tournament page.

Some Thai players withdrew because there are bad relationship between Thai military and Aussie military.

Was that intentional just to promote LD to main draw...I know he can easily qualify that way to but maybe just to avoid him getting fatigued....maybe its wrong..no offense...but its just a thinking

Fatigue, that's the main reason I guess :D

    M/Q Report version 4 (updated 9th June 2014) : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=556555&dl=1

One day before drawing date tomorrow, some players had withdrawn : Sony Dwi Kuncoro (INA), Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka (INA), Deng Xuan (CHN).

It's because they have been demoted from national squad. So they have to pay on their own to play now.

I am really not happy with the draws...no offense but this is my personal opinion that SJH n RI having a very easy draw whereas SN ,PV,BYJ ,PB having a quite tougher one...I know this is maybe bcoz of their higher rankings but still the difference is huge

Ranking will only help you attain a seeded position in the draw. The 8 seeded players will not meet each other until the Q-F, the top 4 seeded players will not meet until the SF, the top 2 seeded players will not meet until the F. The rest of the draw is filled up randomly.

Saina vs sun yu. She lost to her before when she was out of form. Now, she is gaining her form gradually. Let's hope for the best.

In my opinion, Saina can beat Sun Yu. But I think a lot will depend on how Saina performs in Indonesia. If she can win atleast a match or two against high-ranked opponents in Indonesia, that would boost her confidence going into the Australian open.

Sony could not get back to his form after injury. Hayom failed to meet target after target. He also could not handle pressure in Thomas Cup, even though it is not his first time.

    No improvement, out !

    No titles, out !

    The fans want titles.
