Darren Liew cracked under pressure, throwing away the win in the rubber, playing recklessly the last few points. A little bit more patience, constructing the rally and biding his time to attack would have done it when the tension built up towards the end, esp at 19-all.
I actually think it was more of a fitness issue, and lapses in concentration which has pretty much plagued him his whole career. It is really a pity, considering how he has very, very good racquet skill and power.
According to TS, there are 4 courts but I only saw 2 on the tv. The other 2 must be out of range or is it in another hall.
Two exciting group stage matches of evening session, TPE Uber team surprisingly lost to ENG, their chance to progress into semi becomes slimmer now, Tai TY as the main core of TPE squad was absent against ENG. Well, KOR Thomas team only won 3-2 as their first and second MS succumbed to GER. The tie between MAS v KOR will be interesting to determine winner & runner-up position.
All 4 courts are in the same hall but I haven't seen any tournament streaming all 4 courts. It's usually 2 courts that are live-streamed.
Saina should win this comfortably but I can see her struggling abit at times. She needs to increase her on-court pace even more. In my opinion, her game is good but her on court speed is the problem. Let alone Ratchanok, she could face problems against Yip Pui Yin too since the HK girl has been playing well lately.

Indeed! I'm looking at the Ratchanok vs Yip Pui Yin match and they both are going to probably pose extremely tough challenges to Saina. They're aware of the fact that Saina has a real tough time reaching for the shuttle and I see that being exploited in the matches to come.
She has all the ingredients except the movements. Ratchanok has a free flow silky movements. So, it will be really tough for her to match her movements.
I have one doubt. Some ties they played in different order, something like 3 ws alltogether. In some cases, singles and doubles alternatively. Why is that so?
It's because some players are playing singles as well as doubles, so they need adequate time and rest to recompose and prepare themselves for their next match so they reshuffle the order.
In the Ind-Can tie Rachael's match has been shifted before the WD1 since shes playing the second WD too. Similarly, in the Korea-Singapore tie, the singles were played before the doubles for the sake of Fu Mingtian.
