Two faves and top-seed of this WJC are already out. Jonatan Christie defeated by Lin Guipu and KOR BD Kim Jae Hwan/Kim Jung Ho stuns Huang Kaixiang/Zheng Siwei in rubber games.

i heard that he was born in 1998.
at least, he was born in 97 because he played in U-17 Asian Junior last year.
Eska rivan jaya didnt play in U-17 because he actually born in 96.

Too bad, HKX/ZSW faltered in the end despite a spirited comeback to close the gap, the tremendous effort was just too much.

Well, a surprising end as the reigning AJC champion lost to Kim Jae Hwan/Kim Jung Ho [5/8]. So, I guess no clean sweep by CHN in the Individual Event.

He's not the only player with that "problem". Mohd Rian Ardianto also played 4 matches yesterday and 2 matches today.

And Dechapol too and he lost in XD match today but I think it wasn't excused.

I think so too,but Koreans are known to be good in doubles. I have never been happy with the WJC schedule. With so many players/pairs taking part why can't the individual events be stretched from Sunday to Sunday. WBF is trying to promote Badminton or injure the young players. Even spectators , including those following the matches on TS suffer from back pain. Why can't the mixed team championship and the individual championship be held at 2 different venues and half a year or so apart.

So ? What's so funny that you've to laugh out loud ?! Did I say anything wrong? Just stating the fact and expressing my personal opinion, that's all - you've a problem with that ?

I even qualify my statement with the adverb 'possibly' which means 'perhaps or maybe'.

    SEMIFINALS :

    MS
Lin Guipu (CHN) v Zhao Junpeng (CHN)
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (INA) v Shi Yuqi (CHN)

    WS
Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) v Qin Jinjing (CHN)
Aya Ohori (JPN) v He Bingjiao (CHN)

    MD
Kim Jae Hwan/Kim Jung Ho (KOR) v Puavanukroh Dechapol/Ketlen Kittinupong (THA)
Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Clinton Hendrik Kudamasa (INA) v Masahide Nakata/Katsuki Tamate (JPN)

    WD
Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan (CHN) v Du Yue/Li Yinhui (CHN)
Jiang Binbin/Tang Bingyang (CHN) v Apriani/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari (INA)

    XD
Huang Kaixiang/Chen Qingchen (CHN) v Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (JPN)
Park Kyung Hoon/Park Keun Hye (KOR) v Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari (INA)

China juniors dominate semifinal round to secure 9 slots, only failed in MD when their fave last year Huang/Zheng surprisingly ousted by the Korean. WD and MS will be their biggest chance to capture gold.

Both Indonesia and Japan have four representatives each, Akane Yamaguchi is the front-runner to grab her second WJC gold. Rian & Rosyita will play twice tomorrow, hopefully they will through to final.

What 'usual excuses'? Didn't it happened that way? They were trailing badly in the 3rd set, 3-11 down and fought hard all the way back to 16-all, even led 17-16 before losing it in the end. Well ?

Exactly, the KOR , even at junior level, are known to be doubles specialist - you've to be at your best to beat them.

Badminton is a contest of both skills and fitness (the psychological part is another matter), so to have the contestant, in this case doubles player, playing four matches a day will likely result in the later matches becoming a contest more of fitness/stamina than skills and not a good balance of both, hence the quality of the match may suffer.

I'm afraid having the team and individual championships separately at different venues and different times further apart may add considerably to cost considerations and face more difficulty finding sponsor(s) for a junior level tournament. However, I agree with you that the match schedules should be better planned as there so many players/pairs taking part.

Four matches on the same day is not the best preparation for the next day. That is just a simple fact. Some people can deal with better than others, that's also a simple fact.

Unlike figure skating and gymnastics, we are lucky to have a sport that is decided on court. Excuses matter not to the final outcome, but provide endless entertainment to the fans.

What a badminton forum is for if things like four matches a day, air conditioning, food poisoning are out of the limit?

a badminton forum is for anyone who wants to share opinions/comment (whatever) each other. comments like "lol","usual excuse", etc is also still a comment and still an opinion. four matches a day out of the limit in this forum ? you say that, not me, not rosid, not others.

    thank you

The AJC and WJC always have at least 1 day where players featuring in BD (GD) and XD will have to play 4 matches. That's a fact! It has been going on for years and I don't see that changing in the near future.

The question is why "playing 4 matches in a day" suddenly becomes an issue for certain fans when players from that certain country loses and there's no complaints when they won?

Remember, Huang Kaixiang (and many other players) has to deal with playing with 4 matches a day since last year's AJC and WJC. No big deal about that!

There was no issue of course when he won the WJC title in 2013 (XD and loses the BD only to yet another compatriot in the Final) and the AJC title (both XD and BD) in 2014. And now, it becomes an issue just simply because he lost a match in BD.

    LOL really.....:p

Exactly....we have our right to LOL at people's comments if we think those comments are indeed laughable!

INA fans never complained about Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo's defeat at last year's WJC in BD QF (as the 2nd seed) just simply because he had to play 4 matches in the previous day (R16) and 2 matches on that day (QF)! He lost because the CHN pair did play better than Kevin/Arya!

These were the comments yesterday when Huang Kaixiang WON all the matches easily (4 matches in just 94 mins). The earlier match in XD played on Wednesday afternoon also ended in just 25 mins.

Compare that to Muhd Rian Ardianto's matches yesterday (a total of 11 sets and 175 mins!) and today's XD match before the BD match (28 mins). 3 of the 4 matches yesterday were all tough matches and ended with close victories, with 2 of them against the 2nd seeded KOR pair in XD and the 5/8th seeded CHN pair in BD.
