I was at the stadium from QF onwards. Didn't see any BC'ers but I bumped into Daniel and chatted a bit.
That's why he lost some respects from MAS fans. danielwong is a great supporter of our local badminton, esp MAS Open.
saw back the MD final replay and the news reported.. it was the hong wei who provoke the MAS pair first.. since then lots of arrogant action from the MAS pair

Well, if you had watched the SS Final last year, you would come to the same conclusion as him. Except what Tommy got in that final was more "spread across" two sets than a single set trashing he received today.
My observation of the MS final: Tommy came out playing fearlessly. He was targetting Datuk's forehand and was very successfully till 19-18 as his smash down the line went wide. The scores tied up at 19-all and that's when he started to look nervous. Datuk felt it and wrapped up the next 2 points. In G2, Tommy still hasn't given up as he won the challenge and led by 4-2. Suddenly, Datuk upped the pace and won 14 straight points. Tommy's spirit was broken and...
It was iirc at 16-17 when Lee was behind and under severe attack, when he put on an incredible display of defence, dives, and amazing shot retrievals. When Sugiarto's lift went long, you could hear the crowd roar and Sugiarto looked so tired. That was the turning point in G1.
unfortunately it is Hong Wei's attitude, he always roar and shout when winning a point one by one while his partner just stare at him doing nothing...
i think it was game point for mas in g1 when hong wei was receiving... the crowd was cheering support for mas and hong wei lifted his hands up to egg on the crowd to cheer louder... within 5 secs mas won g1 and both lim and goh used the same hand actions to tell the crowd to cheer louder... so yes, hong wei started it first...should have known better than to taunt the mas home crowd
nice to see you again....i met a few BC'ers and if those watching Live on TV, you might saw our most popular member with most post count, among the crowds on TV... not only me, I just went on RD 1 and Semifinal....just want to see any improvement from the organiser from SS to SSP...but i think just minor improvement with more pricey ticket price.
i thought Ah Wah are popular for that?? when winning a point, he will stare at his opponent and roar? anyway for yesterday game, not sure who started as I start watching from 7-7 in set one.. i think Hong Wei felt agitated with Goh constant challenge to "Bring It On", couple with the super noisy crowds?? but i think one should not be so easy to feel challanged and do something silly....whoever started the opposite side, should be calm enough not to engage back... anyway maybe this is a psychological war to irritated the opponent.......but i enjoyed the acts....maybe we need this type of color in the game.... P/S: i remember few players did that when they reached match point or they want the crowd to spice up the stadium....so what they did are ok...
i missed that. but if true. that's pretty cool. that means he is not only not afraid of the home crowd, but instead challenging them, or psychologically thinking that they may be cheering for him. too bad his poor skill/performance doesn't match his hostile crowd resistance!
kwun Lol... Hong Wei probably still fantasizing of how the crowd was chanting his name in support of his massive smashes when they took down Koo/Tan in straight games just a few days ago.
or more like under the disillusion that they are still supporting him when national pride is at stake!
