What a stupid thing to organise the WS finals match earlier. Sindhu's semifinal match happened to be the penultimate match of the day and the match went on for 1.08 hours and her compatriot Li michelle played her semifinals as the first match of the day . She will have nearly 10 hours of rest more than Sindhu . Simply pathetic organising.. No Live relay and even no live streaming.. Really disappointing GPG gold ever..

Frankly, for the qualifier Qin JJ and the WJC MD Li/Liu to progress to the semifinals stage of a GPG event and even come so close to upsetting their respective No.1 seeds is already noteworthy and bodes well for their young careers.

The same goes for XD Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong and WD Yu Xiaohan/Huang Yaqiong as well as the young KOR XD pair Sol Kyu Choi/Yoo Jung Chae. The rest need no special commendation except for Michelle Li who is the surprise package here.

It wouldnt have been embarrassing to lose - only disappointing. Everyone has to be careful of a Chinese player, especially a new one. Looking forward to the final match of the singles. Sindhu with the big match experience and better sparring experience versus Michelle Li who is a more experienced campaigner with the better recovery time. I predict a win for Sindhu 60-40 based on current form.

Perhaps the organizer is very strict therefore no recordings are allowed.

Of course in World Ranking, Michelle is far apart from Sindhu, the top seed. On paper, there is no notable WS player within Sindhu's range, not even Yippy.

But Michelle did spring a surprise on Yippy whose ranking is above Michelle's.
Unfortunately we did not see how Michelle did it without the usual social media support nor TV coverage, but Yippy is no mean player on her good days. Yippy is noted to be fit and 'physical' and the First Lady of the jump smash.

Assuming that Michelle was able to handle Yippy's speed and smashes in their last encounter, then Michelle should be able to take on Sindhu's smashes and fast clears and counter with body smashes of her own.

Maybe a 50/50 chance is still possible. We won't be able to see the action but rather be content with the live scores.

Oh where is cobalt when Michelle needs his support the most? Good that madbad is available to cheer a fellow Canadian who is on the brink of making Canadian badminton history.

    FINALS (02.00pm) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...00E42C-9B0F-4245-8C69-98D7F1E20A56&d=20131201

Son Wan-ho and P.V. Sindhu are the faves to win MS and WS title respectively, let's see whether Hsueh HY and Canadian girl Michelle Li could spring upset today ;)

As predicted China pairs have secured WD title. MD top two seed will meet in finale, defending champion v MAS Hoon/Tan, this last match should be interesting encounter.

Thank you for your analysis, Uncle Loh. Sindhi is a totally different kettle of fish from Yippy. I think Yippy is kinda predictable these days whereas Sindhu can throw a few different looks. To be honest, Sindhu has shot way past Yippy in ability. I would say Michelle is still on the comeback trail so a creditable performance is more than acceptable. Good luck Michelle

On paper, Sidnhu is the clear favourite but if the last few days is any indication I think Michelle has a fighting chance to take the game to Sindhu.

YipPY is a very physical, mannish attacking player so Michelle did well to handle such a player, only thing is we don't know without viewing the match if YipPY was in one of her erratic, inconsistent days. Talking about mannish WS players, I 'd also count J Schenk, Petya N, Saina N, P V Sindhu, Porntip B and LXR (including the retired Tine Baun who most characterized it).

Is it going to be a bridge too far for Michelle?

Either Michelle fails to reproduce her previous days' form or Sindhu is gaining in confidence and stamping her authority.

Congratulations to PV Sindhu for winning her second title of the year. Also Michelle had a really good and impressive tournament, and I'm hope she will show similar results in the future.

Excellent Sindhu.. Congratulations for your WS title. Score speaks the volume... She has proved that she is stronger even practically (not only on paper).. She completely dominated Li Michelle. Straight game victory to Sindhu.

Another GPG title for Sindhu, congratulations. In terms of results, Sindhu is outperforming her more established senior Saina by far this year.

I think I should also congratulate Qin Jinjing for her semifinal appearance and being the only one who could match Sindhu here if the score and length of the match are any indication.

This got to be Sindhu's best year so far, having one two GPG titles including bronze from WC. Her next aim should be an SS title.
