A clearly dubious linecall against WSX, should have been 19-6

I'm actually quite stunned at how badly WYH played, especially in the third game - she really did play as if she wanted to lose. I could have played better than her, and I've never picked up a racquet in my life. This is not to take anything away from Porntip who had lapses of her own but capitalized on WYH's atrociousness.

It's a shame that Ratchanok is massively melting down, too.

What an unexpected outcome, Porntip overcame WYH but Intanon is bested by Wang Shixian.

Total demolition handed out by WSX in the 2nd set.
One of the most unbelievable line calls was made against WSX... seriously that was like 5 inches inside the line!

Ratchanok missed her chance in game 1, she didn't finish her game point and gave free point for WSX .

Pornip played really well.. She has beaten Yihan . It's a shame that Ratchanok could not find a way to beat Shixian yet. Shixian is the weakest link in chinese squad. If she could not beat her, then how come she beat the other two in the coming tournaments..

don't be ridiculous! losing to one of the best chinese players is no sin! you have zero idea what it's like to be a world class WS player and to play against the top world class players. Especially when these top players like Wang Shixian play in their best form with incredible angles and almost zero mistakes.

Incredible masterful display by Wang Shixian, comprehensively outplayed Intanon in G2, practically anticipating most of her opponent's shots. Wang Shixian back to her best, possibly better than ever now that she has acquired the effective though not killer smash shot in her arsenal. Fantastic.

Once PB wins RI let go of her match, it seems again the Thais are doing a China and avoiding
    playing each other in semis.

how can you possibly judge who is the weakest link? she was the world no1, she has been showing an incredible form for several consecutive tournaments. Li Xuerui is definitely the most consistent, but the others, like Wang Yihan or Wang Xin are far from consistent.

Oh, shut it...I have eyes of my own. IR was in full flow in the first game and clearly lost heart after that. A player like Ratchanok doesn't lose 21-10 if she's playing at her utmost, especially not when she's up against the weakest of the top Chinese WS.

OTOH, I don't know what to say about Wang Yihan - one of those days when she is running around the court in circles, unable to dictate most of the rallies, almost at sixes and sevens. But still take nothing away from Porntip who is a much improved player lately; to me, she is the most aggressive attacking player among the Thai WS, at the same time the least deceptive though sufficient. I think she is better than Busanan now and should be the No.2 Thai WS after Intanon.

Kento seems to play very very well right now. 21-9 in the first, but these 2 have not yet to play just 2 games with each other and that looks to continue.

Intanon clearly needs to win this tournament or perform well enough in both the CHN Open and the HK Open to qualify for the SS Finals. With this QF elimination she must win the next and last SS, the HK Open, but even then no guarantee she will qualify; have to wait and see how the others are doing.
