I wouldn't read too much into this. Lee Hyun Il is not back from retirement any more than Kim Ji Hyun, Huang Sui, or Hwang Ji Man were. In the case of Lee or Kim Min Jung playing in Jeonju this week, you have the fact that the event is domestic and they don't need any special permission to represent Korea overseas. Also, the dozens of non-national team players are playing with their domestic team logos and with their domestic team coaches and have been encouraged to do so by the Association. Korea has only had one tournament in the last 7 years that had players of various age groups in the same draw so they seem to be letting this event fulfill that niche as well.
Thanks for info. Clicked on your link for Kim Ji Hyun. I'm assuming that she is married to a Kiwi named Mr Marr.
Round of 16 is already started (10.00am) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...24D9EC-B824-4C28-B618-6F8C7AC79559&d=20131107 Kim Ha-na and Eom Hye-won give walkover to their opponent due to both players are injured.
Yup, as mentioned by this news article : http://www.thestar.com.my/Sport/Bad...gruntled-Zulfadli-walks-out-during-match.aspx
Yeah, I read the same stuff today! The most atrocious decisions are how Zulfadli got fault for 3 times in the 1st set each time he did a chop on the net! On contrary, every time Han Ki Hoon did the same, no fault call! He than lost to a small margin of 19-21 after leading most of the time. It's even more intriguing the fact that how on earth a match between a Malaysian and a Korean (Han Ki Hoon), all of the umpire, serve judge, and line judges are Koreans! Time and again, BWF's authority and seriousness in popularize badminton is in question. Korea has notoriously done the same stuff for years, how could BWF conduct no scrutiny on this issue?
well the thing is can u guess how many walkover or retired zulfadli had been giving in his badminton career? more than 10,maybe more than 20. what he said dont seem to be creditable to me,seriously he always injury here and there during match or before matches always get problem with this and that~ sound funny to me
Hong Ji Hoon just beat Son Wan Ho Son Wan Ho didn't play bad, but Ji Hoon was just more offensive and overall more stable in his play. Best I've seen from him for a long time.
he is 20 this year with 6 retired and 1 walkover.(not including his local tournament figures) this is what i think of,just like that drank too much cold water thingy u can ignore me.
you forgot about Iskandar of MAS (10th seed), there end up 3 seeds left, but there will be battle of 2 seeds and it is WJC 2009 MS Final rematch:

Houwei Tian [11] [CHN]

-

[MAS] Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin [10]

LHI had to apply to BWF ,at least 6 months before he could join any international tournaments including KOREA GP after he submitted his resignation and also did doping test. He is on Reserve list on MAS Challenge and tough to get in to Qualification....
well, we all know what's going to happen when sports competition being held in Korea... for the past few decades... including the notorious soccer world cup... i just read from news that the Italian legend coach Lippi, just complained when taking a Chinese club to play away game in Korea in the Asian Champions League, that in his 30+ years of coaching career, he never seen a home team being so dirty in treating an away team off court.... the most amazing part is that, when the Koreans trying to win something by cheating, they are not really good in cheating the others (coz the trick is too obvious) but very good in cheating themselves (coz they will deeply believe what they did is very righteous, and no need to find excuse). i still remember the Korean line judge still holds the world record of calling in a really out shot of farthest from the line (like 1 foot?)
Yup, the first one after Beijing 2008 and the second after London 2012, welcome back Maybe Lee Hyun-il inspired by Peter Gade QUARTERFINALS (01.00pm, 3 courts) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...24D9EC-B824-4C28-B618-6F8C7AC79559&d=20131108
