Why does population matter? It is not like all of India's 1.2 billion play badminton all day. And I am sure neither does everyone in Singapore.
It was a very disappointing day for India. However I view it as positive that so many reached this level. I believe it is due to exposure in ibl. Now many are reaching r16/qf. Slowly they will advance more.
It is a good sign for world badminton that many countries are competing and not many chances for strategic walkovers. :)

To me, both India and Singapore have made tremendous progress in the sport
of badminton - with India doing it the organic way whilst Singapore by scouting
for and recruiting young foreign nationals. Either way kudos to the 2 countries
and keep up the good work!

It's better to have more players from India and Singapore competing. At least this will prevent walkovers by the same country.

There are 2 tv courts. Wonder which one? Both are equally exciting.
Mr. Adcock may find it tough in his 2nd match against KKK/TBH because I think his 1st match in XD will stretch to 3 games.

Well, there is no guarantee in the future that countries with big populations and large player base will not adopt unpopular policies to ensure that they are represented by as many of their players as possible at important tournaments. So long as they are not caught red-handed.

Yup, we are not sure about the future but one is doing it very frequently now and we don't see any punishment.
I am off to the tv.

It is definitely not due to IBL that they reach R16/QFs. India had good players before IBL. It will take a bit of time to judge whether IBL has been of benefit or not to the individual players. Certainly, Indian players haven't had such good results after IBL. We should wait to see whether it is a temporary dip in form or part of a longer trend. To be honest, I am rather surprised some of the men's singles players haven't done even better because they certainly have good technique.

Let's get back to the games in hand. The men's doubles is something to look forward to. A weakened KKK/TBH ripe for the taking by the hungry english pair.

Don't think WSX has a chance against RI.

Knee injury. He had heavy strapping around the knee and was not comfortable launching forward or sidewards nor jumping for overheads.
Natsir tried to compensate his lack of movement and did more mistakes than normally trying the perfect shots.
Adcocks played quite well. It is never easy to play when you see your opponent has a problem/injury.
