Wow, how did Fu Haifeng and Hong Wei do it, turn the tables on Kim Ki Jung and Kim Sa Rang, the 6th seed, after a disastrous start in G1? WZM again disappointed to end up a one-round trip. Also somewhat surprising that the Indian rising star and WC bronze medallist, P V Sindhu, suffered the same fate.

Just checking in and am quite surprised to learn that Hirose beat Sindhu in two straight games. Hirose has not been looking very good from the latest that I've seen of her. Guess that silences the chee cheeing on that front...[snickers] Everything else seems to have gone as planned though I wasn't expecting the new pairings of Cai and Fu to make it through. Also am very disappointed to see Sayaka Takahashi retire...
Eric Pang disposes of Wong Wing Ki. Seems like a few of the players who participated at the East Asian Games held at Tianjin,China, which concluded on Sunday three days ago and then have to have to take a 12-hr flight to Denmark for this event, are not quite able to adjust themselves quickly enough. Perhaps, besides, Wong Wing Ki, a few others affected could be Yip Pui Yin, Lee Chun Hei, and possibly WZM; let's see how the rest who came straight from the EAG fare as the tournament progresses.
Weird, the proceedings of the Wang Xin - Porntip match. Such wild swings, first WX routs Porntip in G1 , then the reversal in G2, now in G3, WX is threatening to repeat what happened in G1. I 've reason to believe WX is still struggling to regain her former match- fitness and form. Or could Porntip be playing too many tournaments lately?
