sometimes the lighting is so bright that viewers at home watching can hardly see the birdie at high speed.

On paper scenario, former world #1 Wang Xin has bright prospect to advance into last four and likely to challenge second seed Porntip.

On paper alone, WX could beat all WS players in this London Grand Prix using her Right hand.:)

Song Xue wins his first match against Dmytro Zavadsky 21-13 21-18. I wonder how far he, and Tian, will be able to go.

XS will probably get through to the the QF. Not so sure about THW and HY. I always have a lot of respect for the Danes, their skills, fighting spirits etc especially when they are playing in Europe.

Will there be a chance that XS meets THW in the final, are they in the same bracket?

Henri Hurskaininen made it to the 3rd round! I did not expect that, seeing as he lost last time he played Nan Wei But...He did play pretty well, at least score wise with Boonsak in USA and WC. Wonder if he will stand any chance against what I think will be Axelsen tomorrow...

Lots of WO's and retires for this tournament I think.

Had not seen any of THW's two matches. So don't know much about his present form especially when both his opponents were probably physically drained by their participation in the Czech open. Just managed to see the ending stage of HY's match in Kakibara. Impressed by his fighting spirit. JOJ and HKV are players who can trouble CJ, CL and even the two out-of-this-world players on their good day. Let's wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Going by the score, it seemed Wang Xin had a lucky escape in G2 when already one game down and surprisingly came back strongly in the decider to take the match, 18-21,22-20,21-10 - Line K is certainly no pushover. I doubt WX can do a Lin Dan, she'll have to keep striving to play herself back into form, one match at a time. Wonder to what extent is WX match-fit at the moment.

Not bad, Sayaka Sato, edging out Porntip 22-20 in G1 and now leading G2, 9-6.
