Of course fans are not happy. If I bought a ticket to the event, I wouldn't be happy. Hoyer should do some serious rethinking of the whole Super Series competition. There are too many w/o. 12 Super Series events are too many. Reduce it to 8 or 9 maybe.
That should not be the case for giving walkovers to your compatriots alone !!!! Strict rules and punishments needed to be imposed by BWF to make the game more fans friendly and more interesting.
Excellent display by Indonesian MD pair.. Nobody is there so far to stop indonesians.. This is the real champions..
talking about taufik in the prize ceremony? i appreciate his present in japan unlike another guy who only 'promote badminton' if u have $$$
Kenichi Tago played very well in his final match against LCW and led in both games at various stages. He was aggressive and landed many smashes and he should have taken the first game leading 20-17. But LCW was not to be denied and he used all his experience to close the gap and won 23-21. The second game was ding-dong for a while and LCW opened a three point gap at 20-17 and closed at 21-17 in 55 minutes for his record 4th Japan Open title. Kenichi Tago has so far met LCW in five super series finals and lost all of them. Because of that he has so far failed to lift either a GP or a SS title but on paper he has performed better than Sho Sasaki even though the latter has won a GP title. With the way KT plays nowadays, it is only a matter of time before he wins a GP/SS tournament.
chinese fans have thousand of excuse to defend chinese player walkover. regardless how u defend,it is still shameful and damaging the sport.
wonder why you didn't say anything when Korean team gave walkover to their teammate at Taipei finals a few weeks ago??? and now jump out so quickly???
Maybe CBA has learned it the hard way and prefers to give away walkovers instead of insisting that an unfit player must play.
Yeah, no kidding... high fever can cause seizures... ;p But can't he just take cold water to neutralize the fever? ;p
congrats to Hendra/Ahsan, despite patchy performance yesterday they can still manage to win the title...they remain the one to beat...impressive feat also for record holder Yamaguchi...hopefully she can keep rising in future.. just one thing to spoil the festivities in this final....and we all know what it is...
Yeah, temporary partnerships for two SS in Europe next month. 4th SS title so far + WC, excellent performance by Ahsan/Setiawan in this year Really impressed by Akane Yamaguchi, the youngest ever to win SS title, she has matured in her very young age, wow!
Rainbow, or rather chinese mens doubles team, seems to have found the way to counter Hendra/Ahsan... the SS tournaments for the rest of e yr shd be very interesting
