Main and Qualifying Report Version 1 : Updated Friday, 09th August 2013 No Lin Dan anywhere... No Lee Chong Wei... mmh BoMo skipping this SS, getting old or what?! No more Koo/Tan. Will they get new partners? or quit (i don´t hope so) No Ahmad/Natsir Lee Yong Dae back in Mixed with Shin Seung Chan (also in Tapei GPG) in the Q. Chai Biao with Tang Jinhua.
It's too bad that it is going to end on a bad note. The badminton competition of Chinese National Games will run from Sept 1 to Sept 11. So the better players who go deep into the draw at the National Games will have to withdraw from China Masters. On the other hand, it may be a good opportunity for the foreign players to rack up some ranking points in the weaken field.
That's bad, the Qualifying Round of the CHN Masters starts on the 10th and the 1st Round on the 11th. I suppose, most likely the Semi-Finalists and Finalists of the Chinese National Games would have to withdraw from this tourney, chances are players such as Chen Long, LXR, WYH might be affected. Hope to see Wang Xin, Tian Houwei, Xue Song and Sun Yu in competition here though.
Men's Singles: Time for either the Japanese, Indonesian, and Danes to get super series title with the warm welcome from the loser of Chinese National Games Women's Singles: Missing Schenk, but still quite competitive, not sure at the last minute though... and Bella is the sole Indonesians in the field Men's Doubles: Can Markis Kido or Hendra Setiawan win another title in China? Markis Kido with a new pair, youngser, Markus Fernaldi... While Hendra Setiawan play as the current world champ, WR No.2... There will be tough challenge from the KOR, JPN, CHN, MAS pairs. Women's Doubles: If Yu/Wang absent from the field because of National Games, can the CHN squad secure WD title? Maybe yes, if Eom Hye Won is on the list Mixed Doubles: CHN pair on the defense from KOR, THA, INA, JPN pairs....
M/Q Report version 2 (updated 16th August 2013) : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=483288&dl=1 Boe/Mogensen, Hu Yun, Pai Hsiao Ma and some lesser known Chinese players had withdrawn.
some in India Premier league at the moment. higher pay than many tournaments they will ever play hahahha
Disappointed that CHN WS 16-yr-old prodigy,He Bingjiao, has been withdrawn. A pity, it would have been her maiden adult international tournament, a good exposure for a budding future star.
Yeah, money talks Another withdrawals : Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA), Marc Zwiebler (GER), Sony Dwi Kuncoro (INA), Simon Santoso (INA). M/Q Report version 3 (updated 23rd August 2013) : http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=485627&dl=1
I guess the reason why sometimes more non-CHN players prefer to compete in the India SS than the CHN Masters is because it's harder to win the CHN Masters with the CHN relative unknowns and second stringers potentially worldbeaters. IIRC, Tine Baun was once unceremoniously bundled out by Yao Xue in the early rounds. For this edition it's unlikely we can look forward to a LXR - IR clash as the former will have to withdraw from this tournament if she progresses to the SF of the Chinese National Games.
Adidas sponsors the last and final edition of the CHN Masters, trying to get inroads into the China market. Good to have more sponsors supporting badminton in more places.
can anyone explain to me, why this entry list gets so bad at the very end? in one way i like it, because XUE SONG is therefore in the main draw. but i can not explain why at the very and (entry spots from 23 to 28) have so bad rankings and why better players did not enter? i compared it to the japen open entry list in the following image. japan open is on the right side and you can see that the japan open entry list at the very end is also still very good. can anyone explain?
