I've been thinking that how in earth it is alright to scream like Carolina Marin does.. I thought that the opponent can regard that as distractive behavior.. And then the umpires are all the times warning players if they show some emotions after bad rally and trying to wake themselves.. Makes no sense. It's not tennis.
Both the girls on court now escaped from chinese threat. As both of them has worst records against chinese players though they are considered great for their age. 2 out of 3 players are ousted by Sindhu in a single tournament itself. So, Does she have stamina to work on court tomorrow??
The only time I've seen it punished was in the Olympics, Yip Pui Yin was warned repeatedly by the umpire, I can't recall if he produced a card though. So I'd assume theres a rule that covers the screamming, they just need to enforce it.
Wow, Rat really knows how to mover her opponent around. To win the 12-10 point, Carolina did very well to keep up with the twists and turns but in the end was just "comprehensively outmanouevered " by a very calm Inthanon. But a few rallies later, the Spaniard's tenacity frustrates Rat into hitting into the net. I'm really liking this match-up.
NTM of Vietnam has made history by becoming the first Vietnamese to win a medal in a BWF world championship of any color by reaching the SF of the BWFWC 2013 tournament. The final game of his match against JOJ could go either way and he just managed to clinch the last two points and both players were dead-tired from the hard-fought encounter. P.V. Sindhu made up for the disappointment of Saina Nehwal by beating another Chinese player in the person of WSX in straight games. She is also assured of a medal in the 2013 championship and in this respect she has achieved what SN has never done.
Yes, and if you watch junior championships you can notice easily that umpires are much more strict in these cases. But I don't get it why it is alright to scream after you win the rally but usually not ok to scream after loosing the rally (and I exclude all the swearing etc. of course). But it's not good for the badminton as sport when we have these Carolina Marine types at court as it's not part of this great sport. And now the commentators are speaking about this issue! Good.
"It spoils it somehow." This is very well said. I do like the way how Carolina plays but I just can't stand her because of her behavior. It's unfair for the opponent (it surely affects to opponent's game).
It may be irritating (to some), but I guess it really shows the desire and passion of the player. I think Ratchanok finds Carolina funny.
Why do only the women players in badminton love to scream? I've yet to see any male players shouted like that -__-"

The screaming is both unsporting and, as a spectator, very annoying. BWF should take all possible options to cut it out.
