I think some people need to think outside the square. Just because LCW lost a game doesn't make his form any less. Dionysius just played an amazing game in the first half; that is all. Anyone that has played badminton at a high level would appreciate that losing one game to a 'lesser' player is completely acceptable at times.

All England 2013 R1, Wong Wing Ki had 1 match point against LCW, LCW won and eventually reached the final before losing to Chen Long.
Indonesia Open 2013 R1, Wang Zhengming had 2 match points against LCW. LCW won and eventually won the title.

Since LCW cleared this hurdle, I hope he can get his act together. Tomorrow is no easy match by any means, but he should be able to progress to the quarters.

A real scare for LCW and a lesson for him to never take things for granted

rumbaka lacks in two elements: consistency and netting. During the 2nd and 3rd game most of lcw points are from rumbaka's own fault in netting. Indeed in the latter half of the 3rd game he lost his consistency. As an indonesian ardent fans i just hope tommy would take a lesson from this match prior to facing lcw in the qf (if anything goes as planned)

Yeah, Hayom suddenly lost it towards the end, no fighting spirit, losing quite tamely the last few points. He's talented and will go far though.

    Very good match!
It can only be good for LCW to get into this tourney! Hope he settles from now on.
Good he is through, even though Rumbaka played very well.

We all know Hayom does not have so good fighting spirit. Hopefully, day by day he will get that with guidance from Marleve and Joko. He have very good skill, still amazed about the backhand drive that he did twice in that game. just wow.

For a game and a half, he outplayed LCW at the net and that was what was winning him points. After inconsistencies started to creep in, LCW got more comfortable and read him more easily. How long more is Hayom going to live off his "potential"? He's been up and down like a yoyo so many times he might inherit that nickname from Hafiz Hashim. :D

At this level of badminton, it is not the skills that mattered as much. It is CONSISTENCY, PERSISTENCE (aka fighting spirit) and MENTAL AGRESSION that matters. I don't think Hayom is going to perform well in the future if he does not improve his mental attitude. This is the problem w/ most Indo players nowadays. Hopefully Rexy, our present PBSI director can rectify that.

Eriko hits the gas pedal and blows past Petya. 20-17, 20-18 and Eriko triumphs 21-18

Finally, Eriko pulled away to seal G3 and progresses.
