Seems like all Danish players are performing extraordinarily weak at this tournament. First CP/KRJ drop out in WD, then Peter Gade in MS, and now this....didn't see the game, but really unexpected of the Olympic Silver Medalists to play such a close game against barely-second-class opponents.

Hope they can get back into it and at least prevent Koo/Tan from winning :D

Yeah it was probably the worst start for Denmark in its own PSS event.

No schedules release for tomorrow matches though

In the day one of the YONEX Denmark Open 2012, there were some upsets and surprises.
Some Chinese players were rusty with Cai Yun/Fu Hai Feng retiring in their match against Shin Baek Choel /Yoo Yeon Seong and Chen Jin (S3) losing to the Thai qualifier, Suppanyu Avihingsanon in 3 games.
PHG, Denmark's great (S6), also bowed out to Sourabh Varma (U) and that was not what he wanted for his last home tournament.
KKK/TBH (S3) were just lucky to scrape through against Ko Sung Hyun/Lee Yong Dae (U) in 3 games 8-21, 21-16, 21-19.

All INA WS got first round casualty except Bellaetrix who will meet Olympic Champ Li XR at R/16.
Some seeded players have been tumbled : Peter Gade, Juhl/Pedersen, Cai/Fu, Hong/Shen, Chen Jin, really tough competition indeed.

Easy passage to Nitya/Feinya to QF, I think.

I think that wasn't too bad - Koo/Tan CAN be quite good, if Koo can string more than 5 points of concentration together. In 2011, Ko/Lee won 2 GP/GPG events, which were the only ones they played, so I believe given time they will become strong enough to beat Koo/Tan nearly effortlessly - just as Chung/Lee could :)

Lost his edge even before the Olympics. Probably the last injury he got was fatal to his career prospects.

don't forget another MAS pair which any KOR pairs aware the most, Hoon Thien How/Tan Wee Kiong. If Lee/Ko able to defeat Koo/Tan, then they also need watch out for Hoon/Tan as especially Hoon who has a good record against KOR pairs...

nah, Koo is just lack of nicotine... every match that last mpore than 45minutes, he cant take it anymore... seriously if smoking is allow in stadiums, he should be able to win all the games...

Smoking is a 'no, no, no' for badminton, squash and tennis but seems to be ok for golf which does not require the same level of energy, etc.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez Rodríguez, a Spanish professional golfer, smokes even when he competes and he has won 18 times on the European Tour.
Obviously it is best not to smoke at all but then how many sportspersons have that sort of discipline.

kkk is not just an ordinary smoker... he is quite a hardcore smoker... i saw him smoking in a foot court before, and he managed to finish 3 cigarettes during a lunch break, one before, one after, and one when chit chating after the meal... the stress of not smoking, we all know it... during his prime, he can finish the game before the hour mark easily, but now, he is getting rusty, and as the game drag on, the greater disadvantage he is at...
