Maybe as somebody suggested they should do away with the bronze medal play-off and just award two bronzes. How much does a bronze medal cost to the organizer but to the Olympian it's a lot in non-monetary terms? Most athletes just couldn't adjust themselves mentally to play for bronze, extraneous factor at play.

Not really. I've watched quite a bit of bronze medal play-offs in this Olympics. They are very serious. And the winner seems more ecstatic than the loser of the final.

Just watched replay, it was inside the lines so there was no complaint, only shock from LYD who left the shuttle.

I really feel for the Koreans there, JJS was really struggling in the 3rd game and he made a lot of unforced errors and easy set ups from LYD. I think LYD was getting frustrated with JJS as well in the latter part of the 3rd set. There were plenty of opportunities for a momentum shift by JJS kept making uncharacteristic unforced errors, probably from nerves.

Aside from that, extremely solid play from Denmark, they were on definitely on their game and their attacking play was superb. Boe was outfoxing LYD at the net for many rallies and got on the attack far more often where as the koreans were forced to defend. They were beating the koreans even on the flat exchanges as well most of the time. If they bring this form to the final, we could have a very close match on our hands.

now the chances for KKK/TBH to win at least a Bronze is very slim as they have to play LYD/CJS in Bronze medal match.....Sigh!

I feel sorry for JJS, having to end his career without olympic gold.
On the other hand, I can't see LYD/JJS losing to KKK/TBH, so it looks like he'll get the bronze as consolation.

    Mo/Bo owned LYD/CJS!
KOR pair choked! off balanced in numerous rallies.

*sigh* smelling like a gold sweep for CHN.
    LCW's the only hope now.

Don't despair! BoMo might pull it off in the finals. After all, they've beaten the Chinese before AND the crowd is largely behind them.

They are All England champions, one of the 4 major tournamanets for Asian players. For Europeans, one of the 3 majors as they dont have Asia Games. If you ask some of the BC members(there have been debates on this) they dont count AG as major as not all players from all countries participate.
So, please have some respect for one of the best MD in the world

    Gold medallion costs about $500,
Silver $260, and Bronze just a penny... about $3!

Unfortunately for KOR pair that CJS was unusually making quite mistakes near the end of G3. He's been consistent and intimidating the DEN pair with strong smash and several fabulous shuttlecock saving to the dismay of DEN pair. It's indeed a shame that he failed to secure at least 1 gold unlike his predecessor. LYD trick wasn't working most of the time but he became a better player when CJS was frustated.

In Asian perspective, he does not have any gold recorded in World Champ, Olympic and Asian Games.

He collected far too many Silver and Bronze.

LYD only has a gold in mixed which he failed to defend with Ha Jung Eun.
