    Brain damage to boxer!
read it somewhere, a recent research says that boxing is UNSAFE to its athletes, quite likely to inflict some brain damage to its athletes!!!!

it's really beautiful. passing down from the 7 legends to the young generation, thus inspire a generation, and all 204 flames come into a big one.

and we got the real fireworks as well!

    Lin Dan is on again!

It was overcast the entire day today, with a bit of light sprinklers on & off..

Fengwei, Tarek (who finally made it in today) and myself couldn't make it to Stratford (Wembely Park area) as there was just a massive amt of humanity (all Tube lines and trains were packed)..We had dinner and watched it on the big screen; and after dinner & while the show was still going on, Tarek literally dozed off on his chair (well, partly he was still jet-lagged)..The ceremony had a few glimpses of excitement; but in the end even the fireworks show reminded one of the Beijing Olympics' version of fireworks show @ the end of its Opening Ceremony..

:D And still managed to miss two more :p;)

On a sidenote: what thread full of otherworldly aliens did I fall into here?? Who hasn't heard of Tuvalu? Aruba, is one of the most popular holiday destinations for US citizens iirc. [and formerly part of the Dutch Kingdom]. Admittedly there were some new countries that haven't been in existence for long and athletes under the Olympic flag: a majority of them are from the Netherlands Antilles which doesn't exist anymore since 2010 and of which Aruba used to be a part before separating back in 1986 I'm now reading. Those particular athletes were given a choice of competing under Aruban, Dutch [like Churandi Martina] or IOC flag. Probably wouldn't have qualified under Dutch NOC standards and not being from Aruba I presume they entered under IOC flag ...

:D Larisa Griga for Ukraine and a lesser known Virgil Soeroredjo for Surinam ...

Shoddy camera work on showing the athletes this time around I must say and far too short on top of that ...

Very pleased with Finland's flag bearer, being a devout worshipper for at least a decade :p. Couldn't spot Anu Nieminen but have little doubt she would have been there as well.

Athletes were allowed to leave immediately after completing their entry lap so Koukal might have done just that with Czech Republic being one of the earlier countries. Also the wait before was minimized compared to previous editions with the village so near [IMG].

 Now I've still got all those PAW's to do [IMG]

[IMG] Can only agree! [despite the shoddy camera work]

A new motivator to get in shape [IMG]

    Or was that Fiji?? http://sports.yahoo.com/photos/olym...Q4M2MtMTFlMS1hZmY3LTAyMjY4YzhkMTc1OA--;_ylv=3

Worst: Germany? Left overs from the Winter Olympics? Spain's were a big debate at home as well apparently and sponsored by a Russian brand for 2 million, some were threatening not to wear it [probably the ladies :D].

I like how the Olympic cauldron lit, fantastic!
Overall the OC of London 2012 is simple but entertaining :)
Shakespeare, Bond, Beatles, some British icons taking part in OC...
