My heartiest congratulations to Sudket/Saralee for a resounding victory, thus ending their prolonged dry spell - my wish for them finally came true.
I think that's normal in any competition. Home fans will be by default cheering for their players which are good badminton players too. Both pairs are about equal, the home fans of course was sad that their hero fall to the better of the day. Considering badminton is popular sport in Indonesia, Istora most likely won't be neutral place to compete, that's reality because Istora crown will likely have home players to play and cheer for. Anyway, the crowd enjoyed and cheered WXL/YY vs TQ/ZYL.
All the people I wanted to win (except for WD, whom I don't really care) won today. Was very happy for Simon, he was one of the few Indonesian players whom I really support whole-heartedly (another being Sony Dwi Kuncoro, and Hendra Aprida Gunawan) and Simon's delight at winning the Indonesian Premier title shows how much winning at home meant to him. Good job, Simon. Also, I think although LXR lost the match by her errors, Saina did well to hang on to win. Was quite an entertaining and aggressive WS match. Sudket/Saralee deserved this title thoroughly. I feel sorry for Indonesian fans, but well, Simon's their hero today!
She has won 5 SS titles (including today's INA SSP) in Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong; 5 GPG titles (Chinese Taipei, India, Swiss, and Thailand), and 1 GP title (India). Not to mention she won the World Junior Championships title in 2008 and Commonwealth Games Gold in 2010. For an Indian player, that's already quite an achievement.
chinese players dont win fans cuz other countries hate china, just like india does lolz. but its all good.
Congratulation to All the winners!!! Especially Saina Nehwal, you're rock and roll!!! Good spirit that any INA WS doesn't have. Congrats to Simon for home title.
One thing I didn't expect was that Coach Zhong Bo had to handle the Chinese WS squad by himself. I don't know how well his charges were able to apply his tactics. Wang Xin was totally at sea against Sung Ji Hyun - and Li Xuerui was perhaps too eager at the wrong moments, especially towards the end of game 2 when she grabbed 6 pts in a row to get to matchpoint.
It was so amazing yesterday in Istora Senayan, Jakarta. Thanks to Simon Santoso for the title, Saina and Du Pengyu for their fighting spirit, Li Xuerui for excellent skill..her netting so tight..and all finalist for great and entertaining matches...
when Lin Dan lost last week , people say-> tired, tired and tired when Li Xuerui lost this week , people say -> she can't handle the crowds.
this year INA SSP should be included in history of badminton. CHN coming with full force in WS, and they can't win the title. I think this is the first time happen??
Well, no Zhang Ning at finale. . I remember last year when WYH meet Saina, she lost first game, only to turn it around and win it in three, ZN was there last year. LXR had this match at her hand, she lost her composure at 2nd and Saina isn't a player who let kind of opportunity pass. This could be a factor for CHN WS, without their 'mother'. They crumbling.
Nah, CHN is not crumbling. Even their WS players are human and allowed a weak tournament once in a while. They'll put things right soon enough.
I should've put a comma than full stop instead at my previous last sentence. lol. Sure they'll put things right soon, as for other countries, we had seen that they are indeed human and not invincible. Looking forward to Olympic, I hope they give us their best matches. Anyway, yesterday was the first time I see LXR in full match. She is a different type again. I wonder how they trained her. She has the ability to adapt her game into opponent's style very well. Footwork excellent. Strokes aren't perfect but considering her age, still outstanding, I still think she should adopt one of WX overhead's stroke, lol. While Saina wasn't showing something extra ordinary, might be due to fatigue, still thumbs up for her to keep on fighting.
This one post must have got the most number of "likes" in the history of this forum! Keep it coming, guys! p.s. I'd say this is quite an achievement for any player!
