Chen Long did not get to the final in 2012 yet. And Chen Jin didn't win any Superseries for almost 2 years. Shouldn't you be more worried about their prospect in Olympics rather than LCW?
Frankly speaking,with Lin Dan and Lee CW around, it's quite difficult to do better than what Sony has done, more or less. Chen Long has outdone him, I think.
Calling a shot for gold is a tough one because we do not know who Lee Chong Wei shall face in the process, so to keep my argument valid, I stick to a medal in general. He has to get past Lin Dan's generals first before he can go for the gold. With number of sets he has dropped to a number of lower-ranked opponents nowadays, the outcome of the battle will be entirely different in constrast to the lop-sided wins LCW enjoyed last year. I still do not accept he is not the player what he used to be in 2011 but we will measure his prospect after the draw is released When is the draw officially released again ?

from wiki chen long only get 4 ss titles.... how can we say chen long is better than sony ? chen jin got 5 ss titles and one of them is a gift from LD walkover in SO 2011. but he has 1 WC gold. not too far from sony, i think...
then how about LCW without gold WC, gold olympic, gold AG.... compare to sony, LCW deserve more major titles...

Sony was never a WJ Champion. AJC, I am not sure. Except for a Korean, a Dane (Victor A) and a Malaysian last year, all WJC titles were won by Chinese boys. Many Of the WJ Champs from China did not do well at the senior level, like Chen Gang ,Zhu Feng, Zhang Yang and Yu Hua(girl). In fact Zhu Feng just disappeared without a trace after becoming WJC.
That is what I predict will become of Zulfadli after this. 'Dissapear-without-a-trace'. Yea, I mean AJC for SDK.
It's arguable whether Chen Long has outdone Sony. Mostly,my basis for thinking so is that he's beaten Lee CW 3 times in two months thereby his 3 of 4 SS titles were at LCW's expense when the latter was still at his prime, and that,to me,is pretty extraordinary. Well,I guess,to each his own.
