i think still China. with 3 best MS it's hard for other contestant to beat CHN. Korea is the second highest oportunity because they have best MD, but sadly only 2 MD match and if they win all of it still can help them to win the tournament if he lose on the 3 other MS

    Uber Cup:
still China. it's double is absolutely crazy and CHN's WS is top 3 player. what more?

I'd say better don't rule out korea on uber cup, since they are the defending champion.
    hehehe.

As for Indonesia, i don't see any chances for them to win thomas cup or Uber cup.

For Thomas cup, we have no big guns anymore.

For Uber cup, even Thailand beat Indonesia at Sea Games XXVI at Jakarta/Palembang.

I'd say semifinalist is a good enough result for both tournament.

Just watch China will get scooped out by korean. Just like what happened 2 years ago. No one expecting Korean to be the winner. but they are the winner.

No they won't. Different players, different circumstances.

Look at the players they had then and who they have now. Let's say even if one of the CHN WS gets upset, their WD pairs are near impossible to beat. Back in 2010, KOR could rely on the experience of Lee Hyo Jung and Lee Kyung Won to guide the team. Without a doubt, these two were the backbone of the team. In 2012, they have nada.

I highly doubt CHN will make the same mistake again.

In the Thomas Cup, CJ and the 2 MD pairs have to lose for another country to take the cup away from CHN. They are pretty much guaranteed points from LD and CL. I can only see DEN and KOR causing this monumental upset.

Everyone reckons China will sweep the lot this time round ^_^ and with good reason too! Unless the Chinese suffer a giant loss of form and confidence, its pretty much in the bag!

But lets hope the other teams can give the Chinese a run for their money. Their dominance is making it a little boring...

CL might be vulnerable in a 'big event' similar to the WC, but I doubt that he will make the same mistake as the WC nightmare again. CHN to win both cups without a fight except from Korea.

BSH was already 27 when she won the UC in 2010. If I remember right, she continued to play that year but with mixed success. She played at the beginning of 2011, including the All-England but hasn't featured much since then. She was not selected to represent KOR in the Sudirman Cup in May 2011. Of course she'll be forever remembered for toppling a distraught Wang Yihan in WS1 at the 2010 Uber Cup.

Thanks. So we assume that she quietly retired. After the mid 2010, she never performed well.

So no Lee Hyo Jung, Lee Kyung Won, BSH for this year Uber Cup.

Meanwhile, Ha Jung Eun and Kim Min Jung who won 2 other points took almost 1.5 years to finally beat Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang yesterday whom they surprisingly beat with the respective partners in Uber Cup 2010.

Guessing KOR UC team will comprise of:
    WS1 - Bae Youn Joo
    WS2 - Sung Ji Hyun
WS3 - ?? maybe, just maybe... Hwang Hye Youn :)
    WD1 - Kim Min Jung/Ha Jung Eun
    WD2 - Jung Kyung Eun/Kim Ha Na

I know China is favored to win the Uber Cup, but it's not going to be an easy task for them. At the last Uber Cup, Korea have proven that the Chinese women can be beaten.

I think the other strong forces beside Korea is Japan and Denmark.

China lost the Uber solely because of Wang Yihan. Had she not lost the game, Korea pairs will play with such high confidence against the Chinese pairs. So the first point for the team is EXTREMELY crucial and Wang Yihan screwed it up.

Well she is to be tested once again but unfortunately not against Bae Seung Hee but Bae Youn Joo

Not being a hater but it's true, the first point can change the entire outcome of the game except for Malaysia TC team. Whether Lee Chong Wei wins the first point or not, it doesn't make a difference but Lin Dan/Peter Gade's first point has a lot of influence to the team as whole.

    Just an example :)
