I am not surprised that you are doubtful about what I have said what Tang had taught me. Perhaps we should get together with Tang to discuss these matters. ;););)

Actually, it's ALL about our BASIC play/movement/strokes/art in playing Badminton.

Even some of my trainees questioned me about advanced some methods.

Guess what? - I never teach them the 'Jump Smash' before they can do the 'Standing Smash' - And they often say that I don't teach them anything how top players do their strokes.

When I tell them "Learn the basics first", they somehow frown at my teachings. :D:D:D

Whenever I tell my trainees to not smash at 100% power, they are always puzzled as to why I tell them to do so. :):):)

As a coach, I am open to any new ideas that work. I believe in Tang's methods because they work for me in my games. To others, if Tang's methods don't work for them, I am sure they won't want to listen to Tang's methods at all.:eek::eek:

Well said - How can we play like Lin Dan when we cannot move and/or hit the shuttlecock as fast as he can?

:D:D:D Era would be laughing at what you have posted.

Anyway, whenever we make our posts/comments here, we reveal our thoughts (at this Badminton community forum).

Everything that we have said is documented. ;););)

Agree. Nothing unusual. Pick up a few good badminton coaching books and you should be able to gather more playing "tips".

Btw Chris, how long was your coaching session with TXF? Days? Months? Total number of
    hours? Theory? Technical?

If LCW is smart he will give LD the final tommorrow. If LD wins, the Chineese team will most likely get overconfident and almost think the OG gold is "safe".. LCW can then focus all his effort to take LD by surprise in OG.

If he wins that will be a wake up call for LD and worry team china, so they will double the already intense effort to get LD in the shape of his life for OG...

Then LCW must try his best to win and let the CHN team worry themselves to death ...

It wasn't my coaching session with TXF. :):):)

It was jointly organised by the BWF Coaching Department and the Badminton Coaching Association of Australia. It was strictly for our Australian qualified coaches only.

The session was held on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday; Totalling only about 20 hours on court and some hours at lunches and dinners.

Not only was TXF teaching us about how to play Badminton, but also how to restring/repair rackets (manually), how to make good a shuttlecock with broken feathers, etc, etc, ...

    Have a read of this thread;

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...ng-Phoenix-shuttlecocks-(feather-replaceable)

I think TXF could have told Li Ning to manufacture this type of shuttlecock. :D:D:D.

Loh, just curious, has anyone come across how txf trains Lin Dan?

I doubt it could be documented :D

Anyway, if the thing is to conduct a coaching session

he would be touching on badminton points similar or close to what Chris has posted.

I am not been paid by Chris for saying this,

so please guys and gals don't get any bright ideas :D

If the thing would touch on mainly how to train Lin Dan,

I would say that session would only thrills bc members.

However, it will increase our knowledge about training no doubt

but it won't change much if we apply the thing way of training.

Simply, there is no one training plan for all.

I had the opportunity to browse through the training plan of lcw before

and believe me if any coach is to follow that plan for his or her trainees,

very early close shop if you know what I mean :D

I think overconfidence is more likely to produce defeat than worrying does :)
