Second IC titles for Suci/Della this year. Congrats.. They should able to reach QF at india gp gold next week... Valuable points..
Suci = good power, good defence, good skill. Della = almost complete, but sloppy. Tiara = patient, good at net, good power, good skill, good playmaker. Gebby = weak at footwork esp when her opponent give dropshot, quite good power. Just IMO. Lets see how they improve.. Suci and tiara still U-19..and Perhaps della and gebby is 20. CMIIW, lazy to check it on pbsi website.. using mobile phone right now
suci and tiara were born on 1993. gebby and della were born on 1992. all four of them are relatively young.
This is their first title after the reunion. Congratulation to Alamsyah Yunus! He has successfully defended his MS title here in India International Challenge 2011.
Congrats to Yunus, Suci/Della and the resurgent Fran/Shendy. Good decision pairing them again. P.S Now that Kido is pair with his sister Pia in next SS, I wonder who'll be partner with Lita Nurlita ?? Poor her...
Congratulations to Alamsyah, who made it past Gurusaidutt in 2 tough games, lasting just over an hour. In WD, Rizky/Haris justified their top seeding with a mostly clinical 2-game victory over their compatriots. The XD was even more clinical, and Fran/Shendy got through without much sweat against Riky/Puspita. Sindhu however, was made to work hard for her 3-game win over compatriot Sayali Gokhale, and came through in just under an hour. The one major upset was in the MD where unseeded Pranav/Akshay knocked out top seeds Rupesh/Sanave over 3 hard games in just under an hour, the last one being won 23-21. It looks like this tournament was quite a success in terms of match quality throughout. And it also gave valuable opportunities to many of the players to work their games and styles against different opponents.
Indeed, it's a good decision by PBSI to expose the 2 new XD pairs to 3 tourneys (including the India IC) and you can see Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati deserved the title as they beat the first and third-seed, while Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili beat the second and fourth-seed en-route to reaching the Final. I am not disappointed by them in the 2 international tourneys they have been sent to and I expect them to reach at least QF and R16 respectively this week in the India Open GPG. Alamsyah Yunus also manages to retain his title In the most competitive field after he beat 2 seeded local players: Arvind Bhat and the improving Gurusaidutt R.M.V. I like Alam as he's a hardworking lad, despite his limited talent. Yes, he will probably never be a top 10 player, but at least, he has shown that over the past 2 years he can still win titles! He must also like India quite a lot because this is his third titles in India (including the India Open GPG 2010). And Alam is still only 25 yo...he still can compete for at least 3-4 more years. Alam has an uphill task this week as he faces Sony Dwi Kuncoro in R32. If he can beat Sony, I think he can fulfill his seeding (at no 8). Shesar Hiren Rhustavito has also done an excellent job in progressing to the SF by beating more senior players. Unfortunately, he's drawn against the third-seed Hans Kristian Vittinghus in the India Open GPG. It will be a nice surprise if Vito can beat the Danes. He still cannot reach the top 100 though by end of this year but well, he has the age advantage as he will only turn 18 next March! As for WD, Suci Rizky Andini/Della Destiara Haris confirm their status as the no 3 Pelatnas pair by winning their 2nd IC titles this year. I hope they can be pushed more in their bid to win a GP or GPG title next year. They are expected to reach at least QF in the India Open GPG.
So INA won 3 titles here better than last year outcome This week, another bdm tourney in India, GP Gold level, hopefully INA shuttlers also produce good result!
