I did that string job, and it's what I'd call salmon-pink. I didn't use that prototype myself because it had too much texture:).

Haven't heard anything yet, but given what happened with the last iteration of Zymax it should be a couple of months - I know WD were slightly behind eBay last time:).

I got an order of packs and reels coming in, plus I have old stuff as well, so I'll take some pics for everyone. Should be here in a week.

I've put some of the new Z62 in my racket, and merely by the act of stringing I can tell it's an improvement over the last one. I'm taking it for testing later today, so I'll do a mini-review afterhand.

    Mark A,
What do you mean by feeling an improvement in the act of stringing? I'm curious about what diffence from the old Z62 you are expecting by your feel of the string before you play with it. And how does that match up with your actual experience in play. Looking forward to your words of wisdom and experience. :)

Through stringing I observed a more resilient and less slippery outer shell, and less plastic loss on the prestretch. It's tough to explain, but even the way it moves as it comes off the reel (behaves itself better) is different.

From these I expect improved feel (though Z62 wasn't that bad in this regard to begin with) and slower tension loss. I'll find out for sure in a couple of hours.

I spoke to Watdon this week, and they were due to contact Ashaway for supplies next week, so they might get more information about UK availability then.

Tried the new Z62 mkII today and am gratified that my speculations were borne out - the string has a slightly more "metallic" feel, especially with touch shots - as to whether this is down to the new coating or the new core, or both, I obviously can't pin down - Ashaway changed both at once! There's no real power hike as far as I can tell, but it didn't exactly need it:).

It's good to hear the good review from Mark A. :)

I feel a little guilty because a reel of the new Z62 has been sitting unused in my basement.
But tonight an emergency order! So, the first person around these parts to review it will be ... my 8yo son.

I think Stringer's world still has stock... at least that's what their website says.

Blurry D, send me a PM, I'll give you a good price on shipping and such, since Dan is busy. I bought a bunch, so I can share them.

Also according to their agreement U.S. distributors can't sell them below $90 a reel.

I dunno about you, but you can always just call Ashaway and see if you can buy it direct.
