The VT80 is really working well for Lee Chong Wei. Just watched replay of him taking apart Rumbaka (world no. 21) with smash winner after smash winner. Also had some ridiculous defensive, drive, and trick shots.
I've never calibrated my machine so I'm not sure how accurate it is. However, when I demo the VT-80 from a friend. He works at a badminton, and said that his is strung to 29 lbs. I felt that mine was definitely tighter. For me, the racket feels great. I like the quick rebound with the high tension compared to the trampoline feel of the low tension.
Looks like there's going to be a Voltric 80 Limited edition ! http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1159 Pictures non-disclosable until 30th May 2011, but for now I have an artist's representation of what the racket may look like here. What are your thoughts?
Played singles again last night. Wasn't feeling all that great cuz I was fighting the beginnings of a cold. My energy levels were down. But surprisingly I did well (15-6, 15-7, 10-15, 15-6). Probably cuz I had Powerade to drink to replenish my electrolytes. My friend has permanently put his VT70 on the shelf and went with his Gosen all night. He's looking at getting a stiff even balanced racket for his next purchase. We decided to try feathers (AS50) instead of plastics (Mavis 300). Wow...what a difference. My smashes were faster, cross-court drops were tighter, clears going futher (had to adjust since they were going out sometimes). We used 1 shuttlecock per game. Yeah...it got expensive. But it was fun. After the tube is finished...I'll try AS40, AS30 and AS20.
Veering away from topic...very quickly, how does an AS10 (only played AS10 once, I like CN Alpha more.) compare to AS50? I would guess AS40 must be the most cost efficient amongst the 5? Please let know how the others compared when you're done. Thanks. Off-topic, btw, was your NP3000 tough enough to withstood clashes?
VT80 limited edition JP ?? is there any changes in BP, techs, length, shaft stiffness?? or only color changed?
ordinary VT80 appearance itself is already sexy enough. i wonder if Yonex would turn this VT80 into "Yellowish-Red-color" limited edition with signatures of LCW, PG, & TH on it.
looks like i have to prepare my money again.. btw, what a great design you've showed to us a VT80LTD, included with BG66UM..such a powerful racket.
