lack of top names mainly LCW and KKK/TBH pair + the indonesia team, hahah.. most of the other countries sending their top players, so should still be good.....

CHN will dominate for sure, but some events still quite open..... :)

Yeah, still competitve in MD ;)

Mix fortune for MAS WS players, both Lydia Cheah & Tee Jing Yi have progressed into main draw meanwhile Julia Wong failed.

Prior to her injury, if I recall correctly, Julia was really on the up and up. She was the heir apparent to WMC. Unfortunately her knee injury has pretty much reduced her to one of the many a no-name also rans. Shame really.

Until the CHN players play each other hard (which is unlikely given their history), it won't be a competition worth following. Many might end up being glorified practice matches.

Yeah, her injury happened circa 2009 (If I'm not mistaken).

Indeed, we'll see many all CHN affair here...

Just a random question, does Badminton Asia Championships contribute towards a player Olympic ranking points?

I had read BAM's news that JWPX maybe will exit national team if she continue bad performance at BAC and MAS GPG.

As expected, Malaysian back-up singles players who are up against their seeded counterparts all fell in straight sets.

Liew Daren beat Ashton Chen Yong Zhao of Singapore 21-18, 21-18. Not against a seeded player, but still good news for MAS.

I would follow the BAC more if it weren't for the time difference. It's not as bad as the Australian or the NZ Open, but still...

You're right. Julia Wong was injured during Sudirman Cup 2009.
