Oh yes I would give the match a miss. There is such a thing we call work, you know. So even for a well travelled badminton fan, badminton still has to defer to work .....
I wouldn't say they played with the wrong tactics. More that they lost composure in key moments and weren't able to regain the initiative. The Danes took a bit of time between rallies to think up the tactics of the next rally, especially if they lost the previous rally. When Koo and Tan lost the previous points, they still wanted to carry on play immediately without sufficient discussion on tactic adjustments or at least to stay calm for the next rally. Thus I wonder how they could have kept the previous rallies' results out of their minds ...... It was totally in contrast to how they handled the 2nd game against Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng the previous day.
That should actually be one of only 7 players to win titles in more than one category at the same World Championship edition.
KKK/TBH lost composure in key moments and weren't able to regain the initiative . I suppose that KKK/TBH were determined to continue with their tactics as planned (or decided) before their match. Perhaps during the intervals, with consultation with their coaching panel, they should have considered abandoning their initial plan (of tactics). .
Nice writeup. I think Zheng Bo's bad behaviour has rubbed off on Ma Jin..... It would be such a pity if a player of Ma Jin's class were to display behaviour like that. She may not care if she is not popular but I would expect she has already built up quite a considerable fan base and sympathy from her treatment by Zheng Bo.
It seems like China has a double standard for bossiness. ZB was castigated for telling Ma Jin off, yet China has had a history of strong willed women players putting their male partners in their places. Gao Ling and Yu Yang come to mind. Looks like Ma Jin will be allowed to join this sorority.
It didn't look like she was bossing him around to me. She is the one with the experience and there always has to be a leader. Whether it be the man or the woman. Looked normal. The hug at the end was nice.
I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing. Although she's more experienced, Ma Jin is hardly setting the world on fire. If I were her partner, I don't know if I would pay much attention to her. Anyway I always find it amusing to see this type of symbiosis on Chinese XD teams.
Totally agree... 1. Supporter Atmosphere brilliant 2.Massacre in WD. That was the only word that kept popping into my mind. Just too much nerves & CHN didn't let them have any cheap points 3.Xu Chen..very solid, few mistakes direct in putting the shuttle back to the opponent
LOL look at that 2 Caucasian dude at 8.33. so excited and shout till so loud after got LCW's autograph
Never mind the 2 caucasian dudes. I thought the announcer was going to burst a lung when he announced LCW as the champion. Too bad the 2 Malaysian commentators couldn't shut up while the presentation was going on. Don't they have a sense of allowing their TV audience to enjoy the atmosphere.
agreed... I did switch it off some time this year when watch the repeat telecast in Arena. That lady's commentating was so ear-damaging and amazingly got to my nerve rather easily, I would roll in vain (no, I can't throw something on the screen, it's my only tv *sigh*)... they don't keep up with baddy news, it shows... the guy said LCW had everything now except OLY gold... aduh, I couldn't continue listening to their babbling... just press the mute button, easy.
