no i was pretty outside of updates here, and only yesterday saw what AE situation and then I found these two again in the final then i go to the forum and.. didnt find any crowd excitation about this.. no threads and so
actually i could see only scoring - video nor working.. so it's not so relevant grat match or not in this case but i believe we all enjoy to see videos congrats to second straight AE win for LCW! Nice guy.
now people will start to ask - why boring? )) ladies and gentleman - this thread was born before match started!
I think LD was carrying injury, even at end of match when he got lifts he wouldnt jump smash, he only smashed if half court. Never seen him play so negative
Lin Dan did not carry any injury, he was not able to do his usual jump smashes because he had no chance to set his feet as they both were playing at tremendous speed. Chong Wei was in tremendous form with solid defense and able to contorl tempo of the games. We all still have the residual effect of how devastating LD smashes were during Olympics 2008, don't forget Chong Wei has improved since and also able to inject paces into his game. Be fair and square, Chong Wei outplayed Lin Dan this time. Can't wait for the next encounter!
Looks like he was playing under some kind of constraint, but it may mainly be old age! I think LD's latest trick simply flopped, ie. daring LCW to get at him and playing defensively and counter-attacking and committing so many errors. LCW survived and stuck to his attacking play and did not buckle under pressure and kept going. I think Sun Jun used a similar tactic against Gade in 1991 Sudirman and Gade himself played similarly in 2001 AE ,ie. the come from behind and safe option but it simply did not work against LCW. LCW will gain a lot of confidence this time and has proven he can win a big one against his nemesis.
I kinda agree that LD is not his usual attacking self mainly he is not as fit as he used to be? A lot of times during the game he could have used his smash (as in previously) but he chose to rally. We also cannot take away the fact that LCW had improved leaps and bound. I especially liked his body language that did not depict any fear for his opponent and crumple like he used to.
It's like what another person commented, this time LD was on the backfoot, he played like LCW and LCW played like the old LD! I think LD's hesitancy at the net and lack of speed to get behind the shuttle already showed in the semis.Maybe he played too many tournaments, German, CBL etc. LCW was better prepared and in better form and like CL was resilient and was really positive and "steady".
