While AE always has the strongest of fields the overall presentation and experience for the fan leaves a lot to be desired.

The arena - there are new tiny scoreboards at the outside edge of the court facing outward. These are not visible to players and from the lower level you had to stand to see the court Scoreboard in front of you. Even standing the boards for courts not adjacent could not be seen. The big screen could not be read either as if wasn't big/ bright enough, very frustrating on day 1 with 5 courts and no idea of the scores.

The website- doesn't even show tv or live Internet times and channels, no interviews or content no videos. So inferior To the dk open coverage

Outside the arena- the only retailer is yonex , a few yonex stands, a badminton England stand with a leaflet, a nintendo wii game which is ok for the kids and a speed gun where a girl tosses a plastic shuttle at waist height and ducks while spectators try to record the speed. The girl or the crowd look in danger of injury if anyone connects well ! A stand selling programme and some horrid AE printed hoodies. Food as always is overpriced and undercooked! Allow 10 minutes for the outside attractions!

The atmosphere inside on day 1 is dead, unless an English person is playing or maybe gade/ld/LCw it's like a library. Zero media coverage 51 weeks a year means the average english spectator is neutral or bewildered by the largely Asian playlist.

what left with AE now is only its history...

AE has been losing its quality of badminton fair glamour, biased interest from local audience (only interested in players from their own country or continent, and the fact that badminton is now dominated by Asian players).

I would be afraid to said that AE is really shy of being a real Premier SS this year, or even in future is no improvement...

a true word. I think fench open or swiss open are well organised tournaments in europe as well and for example at stade de coubertin the atmosphere is always great. Swiss open actually offers live stream for free on their homepage, so why not give them the ss back or make french open pss?

I, for one, would be glad to see AE moving its venue back to Wembley in London.

    I would assume:
    1. The facility would be more up-to-date,
    2. The event would attract a wider audience, provide more exposure.
    3. It would be easier for participants to reach, less time on the road.

    4. It is closer to me :D

That video was recorded during the starting of the semi final, perhaps they already expect a one sided lin dan to win match. Usually many spectators will come before and during the exciting MD or interesting match expected.
BTW, this year AE was crazy than before this edition of AE with those MAS students studying there was present there supporting mas players. Therefore, the spectators at NIA are lucky enough to experience the experience of 'stadium putra':D

Wonder why. Against rules of the main sponsor (which would be silly)? Or Osim have poor marketing? Demolidor showed us his chair just now.
