    LCW greatly respects TH

    .
What TH has achieved (the Olympic, Asian Games, World Championships titles), LCW greatly respects TH. LCW, himself, has said it many times before; that TH is one of the best players in the history of Badminton.

I am a fan of both both players. And I know they are very good friends. Many times, as soon as TH arrives in Malaysia, he would meet up with LCW first.

    Somehow the thread starter here does not understand the relationship between LCW and TH. Is this thread trying;

    * To provoke fans of LCW and TH to react/comment
    * To say that TH is not as good anymore
    * To say that LCW is not a good champion
    * etc, etc, ......

Currently, IMHO, LCW's form is much better than TH. But don't be surprised if TH's form can be better than LCW's in the next few coming tournaments.

BTW, I am also a fan of Lin Dan (although he has gone missing at this 2011 MO SS.) ;););)

Can't agree with your statement above, though I would LOVE to! :D
Taufik just doesn't have the wheels on him anymore to be able to last out LCW at high speed. Sadly... :crying:
But even with the limited gears, he is still among the best in the world. What a guy!

The starter is an LD fan trying to justify LD WO by comparing it with LCW v TH match

I place Badminton first. Players only come in second

    .
Hahaha...... For me, I place Badminton first. Players only come in second. :):):)

Why? Because there will another LCW, LD, TH, etc... in 5 years' (or more) time. :D:D:D

so as long as China fans enjoy it, nobody minds what Li Yongbo and his team are doing, right? why double standards?

I think that just by bringing up the episode you have done credibly.

It doesn't really matter what people say, it is recorded and everyone would be able to

    form their own judgments.

There should be more people like that , able to think critically ,we would be much better off today if we realised that in the past

and chose to live in a denial mode today. You need to realise of course other people are entitled to their views, but not in a personal and aggressive way like a Road Bully.

It is sad that we live in a world where there are people with ill thoughts... LCW meant good but people just twisted his good wills... sad day for not just badminton but human beings overall...

I think China today has grown so successful that it no longer cares what other people think of them.

But it is still true of Europe today who combined are the world's biggest economic force, more than half the world's wealth,

albeit old wealth. The USA and Japan were also like that decades ago.

You may be surprised to know that in the late 90s the china badminton team even had joint training sessions and many friendly

matches with Malaysia.LYB was then coach.

Maybe success has gone to the head but it is nothing new.

I think there is nothing to gain by showing hostility towards China, think what would happen

if they lose their patience and one day show us the same hostility.

Like everyone else I think it is better to be patient and tolerant with many things otherwise we may find ourselves even more isolated. We have enough problems domestically already without having to lose more friends.Believe me,most of us in msia have little choice but to be more open and be ready to engage the rest of the world, otherwise we will be left far more behind in other things then just a badminton sport.I think Ina is moving much faster ahead and definitely more open whilst we are more like them in their past.

But China fans have already stated clearly they love badminton because so many international players are playing and they can rub shoulders with the rest of the world, that is why Table Tennis is declining. So fans and Association may have different aims.

thanks Bbn, if only more are like you...instead of seeing the real picture and actual issue that is being highlighted for discussion here. i think it is no longer meaningful to continue wt this thread.
    allow me to summarize
    - by openly declaring that he purposely drop points in a Final game, he had acted unprofessionally.
    - even though other players may do it, but by openly declaring it in the media shows that datuk totally disrespects the sports.
    - juz bcos taufik is his close fren, he purposely throw points away to make it more 'respectable'. this implies dat datuk may continue to manipulate results as long as he thinks it is alright. screw BWF and screw the rules!
    - datuk may think he is a superstar now so he cld get away wt anything.
