Tonight Chen Jin gets his opportunity to prove that he no longer lives in the shadow of Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei and is a worthy winner of the World Championships. After many close encounters with LCW prior to his injury in 2009 he with the support of his capable coaches should be able to capitalise on the limitations of his opponent and emerge from the shadows to take over as China's best. Go, Chen Jin, go!
i also hope chen jin can win and make it china 1-2 to make up for disappointment of cai-fu. but looking at datuk's form n skill level, only super dan can stop him.
Yes, CJ is the most consistent MS player right now, his performances has been stable and he has more confident now after crowned WC............ Its going to be extra hard for LCW to beat him now espeacially LCW not in his full strenght !!
Is LCW at his best? Does not appear so. Definitely Park and LD are in better form based on the past few days. i think CJ may be underestimated skill-wise.
chen jin won de world championship without beating super dan or datuk. furthermore, world championship has no real meaning other than juz another super series.. true world champion must be able to win it twice in a row.
2 returning machines. Both with fantastic levels of stamina. Now its down to will power, self-confidence and physical condition.
I think it all boils down to physical condition and like what Chris CC said the extent of injuries carried. Coaches and players should be able to spot an opponents injuries and take full advantage,it is one thing to be fit but if injuries force strokes to be say 70 % effective, then there is a window of opportunity. It is an opportunity not to be missed by CJ. But I think you can count on Koo & Tan, if you've seen them so far, Tan Boon Heong has improved by leaps and bounds and if they learn to concentrate they can be unbeatable. I think the 2 heads of Rexy and Tan Kim Her are delivering results.
Dont know if you all have followed CJ's career. Seems like in his junior days he was a hard hitter and bulldozer like Nguyen but his coaches gradually moulded him to a retriever like Roslin Hashim or Morten Frost. But if the need arisess he can switch between the two dimensions and change gears too. His racquet skills though are lacking so he may lose in net engagements which is the key. But he also knows how to avoid say,Taufik at the net.
Ver true, espeacially Chn team coaches are very good in strategy in game plan after they analyse their opponent's game ! Very effective most of the time !
there's nothing special in chen jin's game. his smash, retrieving, stamina loses to datuk. overall, he's an inferior version of our great datuk. while injuries/form are definitely factors deciding matches but the impact is not so much. with proper intelligence, skills and stamina, the player can avoid aggravating minor injuries and create victories from defeat. that is a mark of a great champion.
i don't think CJ will be able to handle LCW. in terms of skill, they are not much different, but CJ lacks the instinct. perhaps that why some people calls him robot. there is little fire and little smart in his play. partly why his game is much different than LD and LCW. CJ is only 90% of them.
Can't ask for more Datuk Lee and Chen Jin have one thing in common, both have great stamina. Chen Jin is on the rise while datuk seems to sliding down a bit, either way we can anticipate a great match involves with mixture of long rallies(advantage CJ), net play(advantage datuk), attacking(50-50) and flat exchanges(50-50). As for Park vs Lin Dan, it's another fire cracker. I don't expect Lin Dan to dominate like in QF(I wonder why Tien Minh played so passive), rather epext to see Park to be the aggressor and attck Lin Dan. Anyway, lets enjoy the macth tonight!
CJ is the fittest among them (CJ, LCW, LD)... If LCW can't kill CJ off in straight games, most likely CJ will take the rubber games and go ahead with a clash with LD/Park in the final... BOLEH?
Chen Jin's smashes is good against low level players. Against higher level players like LCW, they are nothing
