Got up at 7.00 am this morning and head to the gym to play baddy with my friends, good game with 8 people, 3 of them very good players...one of them bought a NS9900 just 2 months ago and this morning, clashed and warped the NS9900, there goes C$300 (MR1000)...better stay with APAC130, if broke, cry a little and only lost C$50...

I think stiffness is the only distinction between racquets made by Yonex and those made by other manufacturers: Yonex ones tend to feel more stiff. Everything else, the racquet between these makes are almost the same. Players who like stiff or very stiff racquets are probably better off buying Yonex ones than other brands.

I couldn't agree more with what you have said here. Now this is an non-bias POV. I think you justified every brands/models' own value.

Cloning of best selling model is pure marketing.

Most of us buying Apacs rackets because we believe it is "bang for your buck", which translates into high performance/price ratio.

Apacs clones Racket A($200) from Yonex, but only at a quarter of original price. Most people would feel that it is good deal if the clone could deliver 60% performance of Racket A.

Consider this case, the clone is expected to last for 8 months, while Racket A lasts for 2 years for a player like John.

So let's do some math for John,

    Racket A:
    100% performance x 24 months = 2400 (performance points)
    Performance/Price ratio = 2400/200 = 12

    Clone:
    60% performance x 8 months = 480 (performance points)
    Performance/Price ratio = 480/50 = 9.6

    The figure speaks for itself.

There are many models from different brands may have performance better than clone of Racket A at competitive price. But what makes people buy clone of Racket A, maybe the only reason is the paint job?

Cloning of best selling model is pure marketing.

agree! Yonex should take legal actions against the fakes and the clones. If apacs is so good why can't they produce their own rackets (with the same lower price) instead of cloning. I don't know why i feel annoyed when i see clonings and fakes.

Haha xp i'm a loyal Yonex fans, i wear only genuine yonex attires, shoes, bag, rackets... No cloning No fake...

Z spark Z smash Z slayer? Haha No thanks

yo nickspeed, you do know that apacs have their own line of rackets too? and its arguable that some apacs rackets such as their own line lethal 70/tantrum 300 are better than yonex rackets. just saying...
and its just that they clone so that its cheaper and more people has a choice of buying their rackets and not expensive yy rackets.
i personally own and use both apacs and yy stuffs so yea..
ima fan of both apacs and yy btw . so not really a hater of yonex.
    my 2cents , peace

i'm not an apacs hater, but hmmm i'm just annoyed by the idea of cloning. By the way... (forget those cloning issue) does apacs edgesabre z slayer perform exactly the same as Yonex counterpart? How about the material used?

hey tats what im trying to find out too :)
so far.. they both dont vibrate if u hit the speedspot.. apacs are 4u whereas yy z slash is 3u weight.
and es slayer/spark have a shorter shaft??
    confirm this please.
other than that, some says other than that, theres no idfference with yy and apacs in terms of feel, power, control

i think... They both share the similarity in term of appearance: shaft length, smaller frame, string system, colors, shorter handle. i will go to sport shop and have a quick appearance comparing to confirm.

In term performance and materials used, i need to do more research on it. Maybe official website has the info.

Vibration: i don't feel much vibration with my Arc z. (Nanogy98 at 25lbs) I understand that Shaft stiffness, string tension, frame material and design, grip size and material do influence the feel vibration. I wish i could try edgesabre soon. Ever heard of Ashaway Arch Blade z smash?

i can control z slash (even balance, slightly head heavy) and nanospeed 9900 (head light). It's been a long time i haven't use a head heavy balance racket, and by chance i tried it last night for few minutes. As a result, it worn me out and made me so so so tired hahahaha i think my fast swing techniques are not suitable for head heavy racket. I should develop new technique for the head heavy smasher

haha maybe i've trained my footwork too much that's why i'm so tired. Haha i shouldn't use the word "tired", should say i'm "lack of stamina".Haha will improve my stamina too.I do all weight liftings, jogging, sit ups haha i used to have a weight of 100kg+. In one year i did intensive exercises, lost all the excessive weight and build sexy muscles haha. Nowadays i step up my target and learn badminton seriously ^^'

I did google search on Apacs badminton, it's Malaysian made right? What about Lethal 70? Malaysian made too? I did quality check for Apacs rackets in the shops haha. Good quality products.

Btw i was originally from LCW hometown (Penang) but now i live in oversea and got a PR status here. ^^
