Minatsu Mitani and Misaki Matsutomo are juniors . Actually, I am very impressed by the 2 MM's from Japan, namely; * Minatsu Mitani and * Misaki Matsutomo Both of them are only 18 years old. And both of them are very friendly. Unfortunately, Misaki Matsutomo injured her ankle on Thursday 15-Jul-2010, while playing against Kang Hae Won (KOR) in Round 2 WS. I was told by her coach that she is just resting at her hotel now; not able to come to support/cheer for her teammates. .
Minatsu Mitani could win our 2010 Australian Open GP WS title . Yes, Minatsu Mitani could win our 2010 Australian Open GP WS title. But it won't be easy against a strong player, Seo Yoon Hee, from Korea. I shall be there to watch them play against each other tomorrow, Sunday 18-Jul-2010. at the Finals. All I can say is "May the better player wins". .
chris-ccc, can you tell me more about the Japanese players? Especially their age and their potential. Some of these players are unknown to me such as Hajime Komiyama, Sayuri Asahara and Yuko Kanamori.
Misaki Matsutomo: Runner-up of the last WJC . You are well informed. Misaki Matsutomo was the runner-up of the last WJC. .
Like what our Malaysian players coming here as reps from KLRC . OK, I shall give you more info about the Japanese players tomorrow, Sunday 18-Jul-2010, after asking them. I need to get more info from them (players and coaches) as they come to our 2010 Australian Open GP as representatives from 3 different clubs/associations/companies from Japan. They actually represent different groups from Japan; like what our Malaysian players coming here as reps from KLRC, not BAM, and Korean players coming here as reps from Sumsung. It's rather complicated, isn't it?. .
wow, the Japanese representatives are from three different club? I think the Japaneses like Australia so much, haha.. not only that, maybe the Koreans as well Ok, thanks in advance for your help.
I am going to bed now . Yes, at lower tournaments, like our Australian Open GP, we do not get representatives from National Associations like CHN (your favourite ), BAM, KOR, JPN. etc, etc ...... I am going to bed now. I shall continue with our discussion tomorrow. .
yup, none of the Australian representatives survive until the final day. There are five Korean representatives, three Japanese representatives, one Vietnamnese and one Malaysian in the final tomorrow.
..if meant by "last" WJC, then it's correct, as Misaki won the WJC this yr, not last yr.. ..all those 3 names are from Unisys club, including Misaki Matsutomo (youngest of the group). Unfortunately Hajime Komiyama (one of the assistant coaches), Asahara & Kanamori are not as young as they seem to be.. Here are their profiles and pictures: http://www.unisys.co.jp/badminton/w/team/asahara.html http://www.unisys.co.jp/badminton/w/team/kanamori.html http://www.unisys.co.jp/badminton/w/team/matsutomo.html http://www.unisys.co.jp/badminton/team/komiyama.html
From the same club, Masayo Nojirino, Shizuka Uchida and Ayane Kurihara played at the Canadian Open. Uchida got a yellow card from the umpire in her match against Anna Rice for trying to influence the line judges. She just smiled sheepishly like a girl who got caught with her hand in the cookie jar.
Korean players won 3 titles, WS (Seo Yoon-hee), WD (Lee Kyung-won/Kim Min-seo), XD (Cho Gun-woo/Kim Min-seo) meanwhile Vietnam (MS-Nguyen Tien Minh) and Japan (MD-Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa) bagged 1 title each, congrats to all winners
