Well I did back the favourites, so most will go with that I think, maybe more interesting would be to bet on the upsets! the upsets are (in order of likelyhood IMHO): 1. XD - The polish pair will play consistently well, if DEN have off day they have good chance 2.MD - The pairings are very even, but if JR/LP play to their peak they will win, but they are inconsistent 3.WD - tough decision as WD, WS, MS are heavily weighted one way, but I go for this, Petya can be inconsistent, so maybe. 4.WS - Tine is strong, and from what I have seen of Schenk it is impossible to win, but then agains I would have said the same against Pi... 5. MS - This could have been No.3 too, but I think Gade is the king of the Euros - if he is in the draw he wins, simple as.
Jan' O Jorgensen is not in very good form in the early months, but now he has defeated Rajiv Ouseph in straight sets while Peter had to survive another scare and slog against Marc Zwiebler three games. I think Jan might very well upset Gade... As for WS, Tine should win... MD = Repeat of AE final. Let's see whether Paaske/Rasmussen is in top form again or not.
The line-up for the final is so not surprising at all. All the doubles and MS matches are between the first seed and the second seed. For WS, it's between the 2nd seed and the 3rd seed. Not a good thing.
Peter Gade could enter history Danish legend Peter Gade has the chance to enter history in Sunday's finals at the Yonex European Championships. He could grab his 5th consecutive European title in Men's Singles. A record that maybe will never will be beaten again. But to reach this stage he had to overcome the restistance of Marc Zwiebler in the semi final first. The German gave the four-times champion from Denmark a real fight. For more than one hour and twenty minutes both were battling for a place in the finals. When the score was 16 all in the decider, it was Peter Gade who stepped on the gas and was on top of the next five rallies. „Even though I was in control most of the first game I didn’t manage to win it. But in the second set I controled the game. It went on to the third and I got a good start – leading 10-3, but then again – I wasn’t able to keep the momentum and speed at the normal level and Marc got into the match again and we had some very, very long rallies in the end. I am glad I was able to step up in the end and grab the past five points. I’m happy for my win and my mental fighting spirit today but the game was a bit up and down. He could have had 6 already if he had not been injured in 2002 and 2008 (as also written in the other interview) . I saw some camera crew walking around the court yesterday ... wonder what or better whom for? On our local sportsprogram a segment is scheduled for these championships as well . Probably won't be more than 2 or 3 minutes but at least it means there should be cameras today as well.
It's not even scheduled on danish tv, so if not there then where the h*ll would it be ?? Maybe badminton england will release a dvd like for the all england. Then again they didn't for last year's mixed championship so doubtfull ... In addition our local sports program has an annoying habit to schedule things and never broadcast them , especially if it's not football or cycling ...
I found something! Tomorrow at 9PM on british Sky Sports 3, 120 minutes (also in HD). In Denmark nothing at all, even next week. Only their league final this thursday ...

The article is pretty poor. As you state it isn't a 5th Consecutive, as he lost the last event in 2008 where KJ won. It will be his 5th win (if he wins). Can someone tell me if he has lost at these championships? as Demoolidor says he was injured in 2002/2008, but did he enter in 1996 (when he was 20) or 1994? (When PEHL won each of them)
