china/lyb respects AE highly. There are alot of badmintan fans in uk want to see LD lives in action, of course preferably want to see LD wins too but one can't have everything:p All top chinese MS were there, all the top chinese WS were there. All the top WD, MD, XD were there too. Name me another SS (Opens) where all the top 3 to 4 china players show up in all events???

yes, agreed that LYD said only 4 t'ments he cares about this year, AE included. he also said 2 titles are more likely this year before the t'ment, but i doubt that those 2 (WD & XD) were in his mind.

I fully expect LD to win in all TC matches, as he would be letting his country down badly. My point is he is not personally motivated...........AG? Maybe only time will tell.

But then again, if he does perfom well, this can only illustrate the point that he isn't motivated by AE, SS anymore....WC? If not WC, he might as well call it a day.

Yes. Strike 2 for LD. Strike 3 if he doesn't win the TC, AG, and WC.

If indeed LD can only muster up the AG Gold title at the end of this yr, then he is eerily following roughly the same path as TH, who also got his last "major" individual title in 2006 AG (2 yrs removed from his 2004 OG)...

...but of course, i have a feeling, OTB still has that big hope of LD returning to the big stage in 2012 OG and winning a back to back Gold medal (*i hope i'm not jinxing LD)..;)

I have been keeping quiet just not to spoil the glee of LCW fans, as they have waited a long time for this moment. First, you make me seem like I am LD fan, actually I am not, I am just honest when I bet on him winning as he is a proven winner...a little setback but I still say he will be back and not Lin Done yet;).
You know a little secret why LD lost to PG. Here it goes, and you promise to keep this secret to yourself, cannot tell anyone in BC;):D
LD and PG are buddies, so what's firiends are for, man...and as a token of their friendship, LD understands PG not gonna play too long and he is a daddy now and need $$$ to buy 'nai-nai' (baby milk) and diapers and what-nots. You see, DEN is not cheapo place to live, so LD got generous and let PG win. That's true and you better believe it...cos' LD text message me the night before the game...I only share this secret with you;):D:p
As for OLY12 and that gold biscuit, I just finished watching the movie 2012, you can forget about London...start moving to Africa:p:D

To me , i just feel that Lin dan lost to Peter gade 21-16 21-17

If Lin dan continue to lost in games like this yr world championshhip and Thomas cup, Lee Yong Bo, will ask him for early retirement.. dont waste time:mad:

I believe the only confirmation we'll get from Lin Dan and China's National Team, will be seen in due course. Prior to that, we as overall badminton fans and fanboys can only speculate. Some in a positive manner, others solely pessimistic.

Keep your calm, and let's see what's going to happen. Don't burn Lin Dan just because of two lesser performances when his highly anticipated usual outcome is not achieved. He's a hugely consistant player, but anyone can have a downpour once in a while. Perhaps this will again boost his character, like after the 2004-2006 period.

I think you meant the other way around. Peter Gade beat Lin Dan!

    :p

Agreed. I believe there is so much pressure on Lin Dan's shoulder right now. Beginning with the 2010 opening tournament, the Malaysian Open, the anticipation level for his participation that we found that he decided to withdraw. Everyone expects Lin Dan to win because of his history, his records, and attributes. But now this expectation level is way to high.
Guess we will have to wait to see the outcome over the next couple of months.

Top Chinese single players rarely last pass 27. They slowly fade away come their 26th Birthday. We hardly miss them because as soon as step off the pedal new players come forward to fill the gap.

But this time round, the juniors are a little bit slow to mature. LD is forced to stay longer and he may still be turn around and prove us wrong. I doubt he will be around next year. He probably give us one last push for the TC this year and may be AG.

The Chinese single strategy has always been squeeze the youths of all their might, burn them bright early on then when their wax have gone give them a glorious send off.
