Ma Jin/Wang Xiao li, and the chinese team was busy chit chatting while haviing some delicious cracker from what i can see.
Wong choong hann bring his daughter and wife to the stadium yesterday. Peter Gade, Yao Jie, and a few chinese players talked with them and play with their daughters
to my surprise, when i watched du jin warming up yesterday. She's so flexible! but the most flexible is of course wang lin
As usual, Zhang Ning is the coach of the WS. JYJ was leading quite a number of erros towards the 1st set although she leads by some huge points. YJ is a fighter.
Tan chun seang actually can win the 1st set.. entertaining 1st set action play from him that entertained the crowd and keep them going. But then a small error towards the 1st set cause him the set though. meanwhile in the 2nd set, he was running out of gas and chen jin knew that
my match of the day for yesterday are as bellow Jan O JORGENSEN[DEN] - [INA] Taufik HIDAYAT [3] 7-21 21-19 21-17 Thien How HOON[MAS] Soon Hock ONG[MAS] - [KOR] Jae Sung JUNG [2] [KOR] Yong Dae LEE 14-21 21-4 21-18 what a match!! and i manage to see taufik hidayat making his backhand smash yesterday live in front of my eyes meanwhile in the md, what i can say.. it was an awesome match. the mas md duo defence is so good that almost every smash from the koreans, they get it back..and in the 2nd set..i still can't figure it out how on earth they can beat the koreans with a scoreline of 21-4 after the match, some of the spectators throw bottles to the next court..no idea why they did that.
good news. gillian clark is here in malaysia so guys, it's not john burgess this time around with the english commentary.
and mona santoso was injured in her wd match yesterday. At 1st, she thinks she still can play and carry on playing. But after that, the japanese pair keep giving flick serve to her and she can't manage to hit it and goes down once again untill then, they declared a walkover and mona had to leave the court with a stretcher..
As usual, I was practically alone on my side of the elevated seating area on top of the VIP seats. One of the volunteers shooed the rest of the guys out in the afternoon but didn't dare to ask me to move. Must be my "BC World Champion cum ex-Bouncer" status ...... wakakakaka. Fastdrop spent a lot of time with Ants and Dicky Palyama. Ants looked so formal yesterday in his office attire. I was more accustomed to seeing him wearing T-Shirts. Whereas pjswift brought more defensive power to Ong Soon Hock and Hoon Thien How with her shouts. No doubt creating a wave of repetitions from the crowd on her side. Saw robin7, Limsy and old George as well ......
The quality of line judging this year is probably not as good as previous years. Not so much that line judges are being patriotic, because some calls happened in matches without Malaysian participation. But the fact that there were a few indecisions before the line judges made their calls. Like they were being to engrossed with the rally, they were not watching the lines properly.
..doing it once, it's possible. the challenge is if they can repeat the same success again. ..saw the pics. she didn't look good & felt bad for her. hope it's not serious. ..how about your "BC World Champion cum ex-Bouncer" looks??..
Fastdrop is alone today, seated just in front of the media section. Limsy joined jen and pjswift's group, which included their ex-Super Series Masters 2008 teammate Michelle from Miri. Raphy is here too, and tomorrow avataar of Badzine India will be joining the fun.
One side of the playing surface of Court 4 yesterday was taped with masking tape, which is a hazard. Today the officials have removed it. No camera flash rule is being ignored, even by official photographers at the side of the courts.
Round 1 I reached the stadium at about 10am after having carelessly missed a turning at Puchong. I was then trapped in the jam for like 30 mins (the longest 30mins in my whole life), had to make a U-turn and paid unnecessary tolls. By the time I was seated in the stadium, the first few XD matches have completed. Anyway, what can I say? RM25 premuim seat for 15 hours of actions with 80 matches (though I missed some XD and skipped most of the WD). The last match between Jung/Lee and Hoon/Ong finished past midnight. At first, I was seated next to limsy and jk1980 but moved to the first row after a while. pjswift, Jennifer, M & M were there too. I met terry and fastfrop at the cafeteria where they were talking to INA caoches and Hendrawan during lunch break. abedeng was hanging around during the break too.
suprised that George can recognise me but happy to see him, for female Bcers, george is very good looking....
We have a partial lighting failure at the stadium now. The crowd show their displeasure and all matches are suspended.
