just came back from the session .. hav to admit, Rendra with ns9900 is scary !! .. i'll pick him as my partner next time ..
i have a ns 9000 and an as7 not the same as the other two but i prefer the ns over the as Have tried both Z and 9900 only for 10 mins thought
Well, maybe I'm repeating myself, but I'm happy happy happy with the Z slash. I've gotten used to it and this is the racquet I've needed for a while. For me, ti's perfect. The racquet does what I tell it to do, its precise and my smashes are starting to scare my friends. I hit one last night, the bird hit the floor so hard it fell apart! My friend said to me 'Paul, if you're gonna use that thing, you pay for the shuttles!' I believe my game has vastly improved because of it. I routinely do shots now that I didn't dare try with other raquets. It reminds me of the days when a Mark V was the top ping pong racquet. They were really something new at the time and when you played against someone it was like 'Oh hell, he has a Mark V'. I think as it becomes known the Z slash will create the same effect. I don't have enough experince of other racquets to make comparisons and I'm not saying like 'I'm a great player and so I need a great racquet' In fact I'm old, my technique is fine, but age is slowing me up, so I'm saying like 'Hey I'm 63, I need a good racquet because at my age, you need all the back up you can get your hands on' However, my conclusion remains the same, the Z slash is a superb weapon.
thanks for the compliment...to be honest i was also quite surprised how much i improved with the racket...i guess it was waiting for me to find it all this while...ha ha ha! but its always good to know that the investment proved fruitful rather than plain indulgence.. i guess i am re-affirmed of the technology of Yonex..i guess im quite the fan now
demoing one soon I am in the process of demoing both of the rackets. ill throw my opinons out here when i get the chance
what trmun says is correct. i just got my arc z yesterday and i had no regrets at all. its by far the best racket ive used, as it gives me the power and the speed (what they say on the yonex web is actually true =O) but ive never used the ns9900 so i wouldn't know..but i felt it before buying the arcz and its wayy wayy too light for me. prolly because im more of an offensive player... but anyways, arc z for the effortless power, ns9900 for the...you know, speed...agility lol.
um im just wondering is the frame weaker than other rackets since it has the "thin isometric head" so stringing at high tension is more dangerous than a non slim isometric head like the NS9K?
I'm stringing mine at 12kg (@ 26lbs isn't it?) and so far I've had no problems, so I guess you would have to be going for pretty high tensions before it means anything. Ofc it is not recommendable to slam it into a wall or anything like that, but then again, no rackets are intended for that
nah i dont string it that high i usually string it to 23 and not anymore since i just got my MP99 few days ago
Just had another comment posted on my blog about Z Slash. It seems another new user is loving the Z Slash although still getting used to the timing. It seems to be a common issue - the racket just cuts through the air too fast initially until you get used to it. Whilst I'm still using Nano9900 this season, it's likely I'll change to Z Slash in summer when I have plenty of time to get used to it. I owned an Arc Z since Oct 2009. And have been re stringing for 3 times up till today already(BG65@29lbs). All this while i have been using 29lbs tension, even on this Arc Z. I can assure you till today there is no single scratch, racket frame distortion due to high tension, cracks, or sunken grommets. Arc Z can take high tension! and Arc Z rocks. Fast and Aggressive. NS9900 not my cup of tea. Seen it. Tried it. Hate it. Sorry.
ha ha ha, i love ns9900 before but arc z is so much better for me these days. mine are w bg66 and at 28/30 (or 29)! yes, no frame distortion due to high tension (tried 1 of 3 racquets at 33/34 and it holds pretty well...well, perhaps because the string snapped in 10 minutes), cracks or sunken grommets BUT mine has paint chips:crying::crying::crying:. off topic, are you sizing up the n90II limited or regular edition?
